As stated work will start in january and the site office is being preped. Plans are being submitted to change the e&s, chicago rock area anyway.
Plans just submited by lxb for northwalls housing and health visitor( vacated fully last week) demolition for extra 150 plus car park spaces as a temp measure.
Riverside car park will lose half capacity early2014 and will be non existent come june or July.
Multi storey planned finish feb 2015.
Also debenhams and m&s have signed full contracts based on completion.

Is the e&s and Chicago rock area still planned as a cinema?
Also is the development due to finish February 2015 or is that just the car park?
At least something seems to be happening at long last.

Had a look on the Stafford BC planning site but couldn't find anything about the express and star building yet. Be interesting to see what's planned for there...

Maybe whilst they are at it the builders could demolish the Borough Council offices anall and open up the river to the town

Maybe even replace it with a bathing pool with brine ...

An iPool named after Stafford's most famous designer

Bit then again, maybe not, it would only end up with a Wimpy franchise and some slack jawed types in V neck jumpers and a Presto plaque

It is understood a multiplex cinema is still likely to be included in the development on the site of the old Chicago Rock Café.

The old multi-storey car park, which is due to be replaced with a seven-storey, 900 space car park, will be light and spacious, with retail space underneath, while the shopping mall will be covered with a glass roof similar to the Eden Project.I'll believe it when I see it!

Just asking like..."Will this retail space be brother to the retail space which was promised under
Scaffoldshire Place?"

Why have these not been filled? Makes no sense especially as this was part of the business plan to save running costs for the council.

Sounds like a good idea if you don't mind your customers running the gauntlet past all the cherry pickers and the maze of temporary fencing.
