We don't know the reason for closure but I do not think it had the numbers.
A couple of times over the last 2 months I have wandered past at about 9pm from a packed Slaters to a virtually empty No7.
On days when they had the market which has been packed and on a nice day, just 2 people in there. It should be making a killing in that spot.
You go to the beer dock in Leek which has a very similar feel, size look and location and one would struggle to get in on a saturday market day.
Although No7 opening at 2pm is the start of the end of the busy period on a Saturday and you had to check it was open, in the Leek place they open at midday. I feel that was a chance missed to maximise probably the towns best footfall in the month.
It is a shame, it could be they priced themselves out- every time I went someone commented on the prices of a g&t, more competition, lack of social media presence or Stafford didn't support another venture. A crying shame none the less.
