No post for a while? Royal mail Stafford problems?

Yesterday on my way home from the train station, I get to the sorting office on Newport Road. The path is partly blocked by a large mail van. I watched the driver and all the time he was watching the traffic coming from the right, Newport. He did not look left. He had no consideration for pedestrians. So I walked in front of the van and made a gesture that he look both ways.

To cap it off this morning on my way to the train station a postman on a bike cuts across me outside the sorting office. He then goes in to a skid and his back wheel comes around and clips my leg. I shouted at him but he just rode off. Unfortunately I had to get on the train to work or I would have parked his bike for him around his neck.

I'm in the process of sending a letter of complaint to the Royal Mail. I will also phone them tomorrow.

Also as I've been the victim of an accident which was caused by an employee of Royal Mail I might engage some ambulance chasers for the cost of dry cleaning my suit.

On a separate note, seeing as this thread's been resurrected, I'm utterly convinced that our post is being saved up and they only bother to deliver to us when we have enough letters to make it 'worth it'. The only thing that ever arrives on time is my Private Eye, but it usually arrives after several days of no post at all and comes with 3 or 4 other items.

I suspect RM will just tell you to **** off as you are not their customer and they have no obligation to you whatsoever, and that within 3 years daily mail deliveries* for all but town and city dwellers will be a thing of the past as shareholder dividends take priority over service.

* I'd love deliveries of the DM to be a thing of the past, but as I'm sure you are aware I mean getting a delivery daily.

I know this is an old thread but didnt want to make a new one....just wondering if anyone else hasnt had post for a while?

I've seen the postman going round the street but its been 4 days (postal days not including sunday) since we had any post and im waiting for an important letter that was posted 10 days ago.

Im beginning to wonder if they have been posting it next door ( currently empty), but i dont know when the new tenants are due in to ask them...

We found some post in the lean to down the side of the house the other week, pretty sure our usual postie was off and his replacement just went for the nearest door.

Generally things arrive okay for me lately. Although I did have Parcel Force deliver a parcel to a neighbour and not leave a card to say they had done so.

I just wish the sorting office would move into the 1990s and beyond by using a computer to look up parcels.

I get the odd item of mail delivered here, on behalf of someone who lives abroad. I've just had a letter for him come through the door and it has no house number on it. It was only posted on the 11th, so top marks to Mr Postie for spotting it.

Post delivery's have been at all times of the day here just lately, anywhere between 08:00 and 15:30. Unfortunately we also share a house name with another local property and if the usual postie is off will regularly get their post as well as our own.

Sometimes, they can have unexpected logistical issues.
