Tha's our local park, and yes they re-touched the area last yr, but it just stopped. Mid-flow. Pathway starts.....then rubble up to the play area. Bizarre. More concerning is the burnt out remains of the pub (can't remember name) at last look it was a serious danger zone. Which reminds me, the vacant old park on Westway Highfields, literally stood empty for 15+ years now, beautiful waste of space.

The pub was the Charnley, it's been demolished now. Nothing there at all! I grew up on Oxford gardens and I can tell you that they haven't done anything with that path in a good 20 years.

well thats a disgace !it would make an ideal cycle path for the younger kiddies or a running track , all we need is someone to fall sustain an injury and sue the council !!!!!!!!!!!, shall we start a campaign or am i living in cuckoo land .

Agreed, but its not going to happen for a while yet. Have you seen how many roads don't have speed humps or a set of traffic lights yet? There's loads to be spent on recreation facilities too, the more mind numbing sport activities the better!

Then again I think the council can spend it's money more wisely than sorting out 500 yards of path that if you trip over on its your own stupid fault. I'm sorry but I just can't stand this sue me sue you culture.

yeah, but no-one's mentioned anything like that, it was more a concern for the kids.. which is fair enough, really..

The Charnley was ripped down a few years ago wasn't it? My mum lives on that road, sure its been at least 2 years. As for the path, they probably think if they've got away with it for the last 30 years why bother.

As for kids falling over, its what they do. I did, am sure you all did, anybody here harmed for life? You can't protect them from everything.

I'm with Tek on this one, kids do fall over and its all part of the learning curve. The only problem there is broken glass, but thats another story.

Ok then... I thought, traditionally, a forum was a place for discussion, ideas and debate. Evidently I, and the rest of the Stafford forum are wrong.

Heaven forbid conversation should take direction rather than pondering the same point endlessly.

i thought this was supposed to be a friendly forum ,you just blown it out of proportion , i wont bother in future
eh? no-one was being mean! the whole point of a forum is a place for discussion and for people to view their opinions.. it would be boring if everyone felt the same! :)

You think this is bad, take a look in the dossers thread! And there's no hard feelings between any members as a result of it (I hope). You gave an opinion, others gave an opinion.

On matters like this there is always somewhere more deserving to spend the money, at least to others anyway.

tek-monkey makes an excellent point. That "dossers" thread was very heated, probably the most charged thread we've ever had on The Forum, and as such one of the most interesting! But as tek says, there were no hard feelings at the end of the day. A few Stafford points lost here and there, perhaps, but they can always be rebuilt ;)
