Revolution vodka bar coming to Stafford?

Popped in last night. Looks great with the currently fashionable exposed concrete columns and ceilings. It's a big space but looks like half of it is turned over to dining with table-service, the ready is more like a bar. It was pretty busy considering the official opening hasn't happened. Loads of staff, all learning the ropes. It was good to see the cocktail makers being closely supervised. 4-5 lagers on draft, bottles of craft beer and of course Vodka.

My only worry is it'll potentially kill off The Post House.

Went in on Saturday, and I'm pretty impressed with what they've done with the space......interesting use of an old church pulpit as a DJ booth stuffed in the corner.

Average price of around £4.50 a pint, Mahou, Budvar, Shipyards, Peroni, Aspals and Magners on tap that I could see, with a wide range of craft beers in bottles too.

Though when speaking with the lad on the bar, telling him how much it is different to the days of the Litter Tray & the Newt & Cucumber......his expression was one of complete confusion....he had absolutely no idea what I was going on about....aw well. Yet to try the food, but I'm sure it will be pretty decent. I thionk it may be worth getting one of the members cards as well?

Again?

And £4.50 a pint for Magners? No thanks!

Well the pint of Mahou was £4.50.......Cider may be different though I suspect it may not be.....there are an extensive range of offers on I noticed from looking around the decor in there....will may be worth a look?

I went into Revolution on Wednesday evening to peruse the new cocktail menu. I was surprised to see tables everywhere. Never having been in a Revolution before, i assumed that part of it would be a dance floor. Was also surprised to see just how many of those tables were set up for meals - bearing in mind this was after 9pm - the vast majority of the tables had cutlery and cups out.

The cocktail menu is vast and mostly fine 'twists on classics'. My only gripe is the blasphemy of adding bloody Malibu to a Margarita. You don't add coconut to something that's supposed to be tequila, orange and lime flavoured. It's a classic for a reason.

The price point is quite high - about 25p cheaper than the Post House per cocktail. There is a 2 for 1 but only weekdays until 9 and only if you get two of the same. I'm hoping they'll adjust to the Stafford market and lower their prices slightly. Having said that, a cocktail is about the same price as a double vodka and coke.

I'm yet to see it in full swing - if the music is so loud you can't hear and it's full of 'Post House' and 'Casa' type people then it'll remain a lunchtimes and early evening place only for me, just because that's not my scene. I do love a good cocktail but I’m not willing to go deaf while waiting for half an hour for one.

The staff seemed willing but inexperienced so I don't think it's fair to write the place off just yet, as some seem desperate to.

Let’s get this party started.

Revolution Stafford is located right in the heart of the town centre, overlooking the majestic River Sow. Set out ove...
Well I've never heard the Sow called 'majestic' before !

I went for lunch here last Wednesday. I was very impressed. We tried the club sandwich which was lovely and tasty. We didn't have any cocktails as we were both driving afterwards but the ones we saw coming out looked fab! When we received our bill we were pleasantly surprised to find out there was 50% off food on Wednesdays! Looking forward to sampling it in the evening and trying some of the cocktails out.

Girl from work has settled in here very nicely thank you. She's a CASA Friday bird, along with a couple of other mates. Loves this place.

Went in yesterday for a bite to eat while the motor was being fixed.....Staff were more than friendly and really nice....especially the manager in the sharp blue suit!

Decided on the Mother Clucker burger....really nice except that the standard Brioche bun was WAY too small for the burger itself. the lower half fell apart within minutes.
Aside form that, over all really impressed so far....

This place is for kids, right?

So, for that reason, i'll be staying well away.

During the evening I would probably say yes.....Through the day I'd say definitely go in and take a look? Comfy seats, waited table service and friendly atmosphere.....Unfortunately the only drought Ale of any description is Shipyards Pale Ale.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Have been to the in Newcastle a few times during the day and it's certainly not a kids place then. At night, I'm told that's a different matter.
