I too say well said Gareth.
I've been on my hols for the last week so reading this thread in it's entirety from the start. It's one long whinging moan as far as I can tell. I'm getting so fed up with the negativity surrounding Stafford. I'm not even from Stafford originally but I'm as proud of the town as if it was my home town and it makes me happy that things are being done to make it a County town to be even prouder of. I've always thought in the 23 years I've lived here, that lovely as it is it doesn't really get treated as a County town and I'm really happy to see it developing. BUT OH MY GOD so many of you just have to complain about EVERYTHING. You say Stafford is rubbish then you whinge when things are done to improve it. There's just no pleasing some people and I think a certain few on here are just trouble makers, serial moaners or deliberately trying to provoke.
Count your blessings Stafford people, there are far worse places to live.
Totally agree, I've travelled up and down the UK doing work for pubcos and seen so many towns were the highlight is leaving them, ok I may have a soft spot for Stafford or just be overly proud of the town where I live and work, but as said by Jade we are fortunate to live in both a lovely town and that said a lovely county.

I'm not whinging, I'm merely pointing out that people will always find something to complain about.
Sad really considering all the bad things happening in the world and people are getting worked up about a shopping centre that looks perfectly fine to me and will provide extra jobs and more choice for the town. Hopefully bringing in more visitors in the process.

Just don't get this idea that a new shopping mall and yet another supermarket will help us or the town, particularly when the developers are apparently offshore tax evasionists. After the initial thrill of buying an entire winter Primark wardrobe £12.99 we'll all have to face up to the fact that the traffic jams are worse than ever, half the main street shops are empty and the centre is full of cast off council offices. That's realism, not whinging. According to the Newsletter even the council has admitted there might be a problem.

But its change, development, trying to improve and move with the times. That's got to be a good thing, Businesses, or even towns that don't move with the times and change to meet demand are the ones that are failing. Positivity alphagamma, don't be so negative. And since when did we believe anything the Newsletter said??
