Romance - A Taste of Romance in Stafford

has something happened to romance in stafford, does anyone know? we've just gone to order our saturday staple of chicken tikka kebab, but the website's down.. so we decided to "go analogue" and order over the phone for the first time in years, but there's no answer there either 
i really hope they haven't gone tits-up.. nowhere does a chicken tikka kebab like them, and their pizzas are super tidy as well!

I move out of stafford for five minutes and the pizza industry collapses.

We are in the final stages of moving our server. All systems should be back up and running at 6.30PM

yeah, it didn't say that earlier - we tried from 17:00 - 17:45 and it was just timing out.. i assumed it was just usual internet gremlins, but then when i couldn't get through to them on the phone either my tinfoil hat came out and i assumed the worst!
fortunately, my tasty, tasty murdered animal is now in the process of being cremated and wrapped in a little doughy coffin

their old URL even redirects to slicesstafford.com now.. and they've added a Slices Stafford: Coming soon... button to their main (Telford) website..
i hope to god that they stick to the current menu, and don't reduce it to just pizza.. i love pizza, i'd go so far as to say it's my favourite takeaway food, but there is plenty to choose from in stafford.. on the other hand, nowhere does a chicken tikka kebab like romance do

No romance will not change any of the kebabs but yes there has been a name change due to the pizza oven change. We will have more variety of pizzas now than before we were not able to provide any deep pan pizzas now with the new oven we will be able to provide a lot more choices and variety.

they've dropped the wood-fired oven, which is a shame as romance did the best pizzas in stafford imo, but to be honest the main attraction for me (as you may have noticed) is the chicken tikka kebabs, so as long as they're the same they will still have my business!

in all seriousness, this could be a deal-breaker for me..Had a lamb tikka tortilla - my usual favourite - Seemed like it had shrunk a bit to me
there are 2 reasons that me & ms. db love(d) romance:
- the chicken tikka was gorgeous, and was proper chicken meat done on an open flame rather than the "elephant leg on a stick" arrangement you get in most kebab places.
- the kebabs came with gorgeous, fresh salad.. loads of crisp iceberg lettuce, loads of fresh red onion, etc. - it really was lovely, and along with their mint yoghurt really set their kebabs apart from the usual "post-pub sick-in-a-naan" type thing..
if either of those have been dropped, then we will be gutted.. we order from them literally every week, so we'll feel like we've lost a limb! a tasty, tikka marinated limb

Odd reason to change the pizza oven, I've always seen deep pan as being an abomination of a pizza. Thin and crispy all the way!
I really miss the old perfect pizza, where TGF pizza is now. They did some amazing pizzas, the oriental special with egg on was great, and they did a steak one with bernaise sauce too that was simply gorgeous.

Just found this thread by accident - absolutely gutted they've lost the wood fired oven. Doubt I'll go there again now if I'm honest, their pizza was worth the trip into stafford as the wood smoke gave it lovely flavour. I can get deep pan abomination pizza in eccleshall (or anywhere)
