I don't like rugby or football can we change it to a tennis club??
Sorry, it's essential that children participate in a direct contact sport that has a high incidence of injury, so tennis is obviously unacceptably safe.

That's rubbish
"your current site"... You assume I am a member of Stafford Rugby Club. I'm not, never have been and very much doubt that I ever will be as I have no interest in rugby or Stafford Rugby Club.Personally how low to stoop to try and get a decision in favour , children , Bullshit and more Bullshit , if the benefits are for children then a bridge over Kingsway for safety would have been built at your current site , blue grass perhaps no it's all about the Clubhouse , the drinking den for the adults is what this new facility is all about , would the grass at the new site make our children into world beaters no convince me I'm all ears

I do, however, advocate sport for young children and youth and believe that their views should indeed be heard when it comes to this planning application. Obviously it's adults who will make the decision and not children but there is no reason why children should not attend the meeting and put forward their views.

I was not presuming at all about any association with the Rugby Club and I do not knock the proposal. But the proposal can be done anywhere , persons travel to Rowley Park , and wherever to use a 3G pitch this is not tied down to site specifics . I'm not a NIMBY this will not effect me in the slightest , but what I'm trying to protect is for the enjoyment of future generations also ,the buffer zone to Doxey Marshes SSSI it's beauty it's tranquility it's all free and we are trying to destroy it piece by piece

Pmsl.I would say not in a democracy, or they would get the chance to vote
Pmsl. How wrong can one person be in a single post.Personally how low to stoop to try and get a decision in favour , children , Bullshit and more Bullshit , if the benefits are for children then a bridge over Kingsway for safety would have been built at your current site , blue grass perhaps no it's all about the Clubhouse , the drinking den for the adults is what this new facility is all about , would the grass at the new site make our children into world beaters no convince me I'm all ears
I think this is the fundamental opposition most people who object have, they aren't anti-rugby, just anti the destruction of this wonderful natural area of our town. Rugby pitches can be built anywhere. Once this area is destroyed, it's gone forever.
Surely the best way to protest would be to picket Lord Stafford's place in Mustique, or whatever tropical island he owns. The little people on the planning committee are doing nothing more than tugging their forelocks. Whichever party they claim to represent.
Not for the first or last time. You lost the plot just there
That may well be the bottom line for Lord Stafford. A world class facility with a pitch as good as any, will put Stafford on the sporting map for many years to come. Whilst it may never host a Five Nations or whatever championship, it could conceivably host training facilities for any visitors to our shores. It's all about profits for Lord Stafford.
And Marwood reckons I've lost the plot. That may well be the bottom line for Lord Stafford. At a personal level, I still believe the majority of objections to this development are mimbyistic. The benefits to our society which (the numbers of young people who are being taught teamwork and leadership skills every week at) the Rugby Club brings to Stafford are immense
