Looking out of a window?

I am conducting highly scientific enquiries, requiring on-the-ground measurements involving a pointy stick and a ruler.
Sticking my head out the curtains whilst typing

Hadn't got a pointy stick with me when I went to the bin ........had to make do with the mark on my finger measured later with a ruler :D

Actually, that's exactly how my initial 5mm measurement came about - i feel i have massively upped the legitimacy of my findings by the adoption of the pointy stick. :)

It would be nice to credit the original poster of that image.... :)

Well, my pointy-stick-based calculations now indicate an additional 24mm of snowfall.

If that doesn't qualify as a National Emergency, QF i don't know what does.

From the Walton e-mail it looks like Walton might be open tomorrow :

'We will work on the site today in order get it ready for tomorrow'

Some more white stuff coming down again :(

Possibly a wasted venture of mine, but i've just today set up this new online service....
www.schoolclosures.gb.com
If anyone would like to peruse the site and give their thoughts please feel free to do so

Our school (Walton High School) already sends out text messages,as well as e-mails, about school closures and other info wmr.

I do know that my neighbour, whose son goes to Barnfields, wasn't informed about the school closing at lunchtime Friday(. Apparently told"too many to inform everyone" when she found out off someone else and queried it with the office).
So sounds like it may come in useful for some people who's school haven't already got the text messaging service, especially those at work who can't get access to school websites.

250,000th poster!
Tillington also sends texts, but then when you get your child there they inform you that they're closing, they send texts firstly stating that they are closing at 12 then they send you another text at 10.30 ordering you to collect your child NOW....

Signal 1 website also has a list of school closures, but again Tillington don't seem to bother updating the info on it as frequently as other schools.

Moan and gripe over, well done WMR for at least trying to help :)

I got a phone call at work from Barnfields - our little one is in reception - the other year 5. A lot of friends only found out by other people mentioning it on facebook! Bit of a farse!
