I'll start us off!

I want a Lush please!

Two floors of over powering heavenly bath bombs and soaps!

And then I want to work there - forever!

there are a few suggestions in this thread, from this time last year:

What I would like to see in Stafford is.....

...although that is more of a general "what would you like, full-stop," as opposed to just shops..

i really want to see stafford town centre thrive, so i'm wracking my brains to come up with suggestions here, but tbh i buy pretty much everything online these days so i really can't think of anything i'd want to go to a shop for..

the only things i can think of are an Apple store, and a Burger King - but the latter isn't really a "shop", and the former isn't for buying, it's just for lusting over the hardware and laughing at hipsters!

there's a little place in bristol called The Boston Tea Party that i used to love, back in my student days.. one of them would be quite nice, but again, not really a "shop", and i suppose places like The Soup Kitchen et al are already quite similar!

so, in a nutshell: this post is useless, soz :v:

Enjoying a drop of red.
Apple store (not because I'm a fan boy but because it'll bring people into the town) a food hall, John Lewis.

How do I edit this?
A lot of what I would like to see in the future is in the Sadly Missed thread from the past - and, so, would probably just go again, maybe even quicker...

Agreed - I'd love a good independent record shop, with an extensive blues section, but I'm rather afraid such things belong in the past...

Independent shops. Certainly no slush or Primark. Check the market I belive there is a stall that sells some lush or similar products.

The council should have done more to entice John Lewis and Waitrose. Certainly ups the anti and would allow for independents to prosper around them making Stafford a destination. We will all be shopping in Stoke next

I'd love to see a decent second hand shop - non of your cash generator over-priced crap or anything like that, but more of a good old fashioned "2nd time around" place like we used to have up by the wagon & horses years ago. A bit of an aladins den where you have to dig deep to find something unexpected.

Some of us remember Resales - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/ind...der-of-staffords-past.2396/page-16#post-47714 - a great place, full of everything.

My fruit press came from the one by the Waggon. There was one in Tithe Barn Road, too.

Bring 'em back. Charity shops just aren't the same - although I do of course value what they do.

Have whatever shops you won't but without major employment its all a waste of time.
Shops don't employ big numbers i'm afraid and that's what Stafford need right now.
Not more shops.

They were advertising the Redhill development up at Jctn 14 in tonight's E & S, I know alot were oppossed to building on green fields but the site is prime location by the motorway. Lets hope we end up with some quality manufacturing jobs but I suspect we will end up with more warehousing.
As for the town centre I want to see it busy with most of the shops open but ultimately I think the way forward to regenerate the town centre is to have more people living right in the centre so they can support the local businesses.

This idea has been brought up a few times in the last week.

There have been a fair few places built in, or near as, in the last few years - the ones over the river from the park, the ones next to the Coach & Horses, the one over the river from them where the Yard is, even the mass load @Brunswick Terrace could be included at a push - does anyone happen to know whether they have sold well?

Just curious. :)
