I can see your 'likes' begin to outnumber your 'post count' soon if you keep posting these - they're fantastic!
Thanks for the kind words :)

If you become brave enough and your skills and drone are up to it, it would be good to see some moving footage travelling along the disused line.;)
It's funny you should say that, I actually started to do so after taking the photos above, but the battery was too low to continue. I need to invest in a few more batteries now really so that I have more time in the air when I take it out.

I'm quite surprised that @djwellis hasn't come in on this thread yet, as he was snapping away from a better equipped drone before me. I'm not even sure if he still frequents the forum.

Spied many drones at the Photography Show - although this monster caught my eye!
Ah, yes, the DJI S1000. Nice piece of kit, although I now prefer their Inspire 1 model with 4KHD camera and dual remotes. Mainly because the landing gear can be ratracted mid air so that the camera can rotate a full 360 without anything in the shot whatsoever.
Anyway, shut up please, the next upgrade hasn't even arrived yet and I can afford to go no better for some years ;)

Well, the new version has arrived and is hopefully all set up and ready to go. Will post some new pictures and video asap.

Does anyone have any suggestions of something they might like to see from the air? Obviously it must be somewhere with reasonable open space for legal reasons.

As one of our best kept village idiots I would like to see some shots over Doxey, I think the marshes would be good to document but not sure how you negotiate incoming Branta canadensis

I think your photos are brilliant but just one question.....

What about peoples privacy...for example in the summer if someone was in their garden sunbathing and they didnt particularly want the photo going online.
Or dont they go that close?

Just wondering.

Doxey marshes.

Astonfields balancing lakes (I've still never seen those)

The new housing development opposite MOD to get an appreciation of the size.
All 3 of those sound good to me, also a few shots of the new MOD houses behind Douglas Road West as that turned out a lot bigger than I thought!
