Not sure. I think it was for post office staff originally when post was sent in guards' vans but I can't remember this room being used.

Looks like a new retail outlet is being built on platform 3/4 at the station.

Hopefully it will be a coffee shop, we really need a third one in this location!!!!

Excellent. Their coffee is a bit better than the station's Starbucks and their customer service in a totally different league from the unhurried, disinterested and rude cretins who 'work' there.

Seems a strange position to have a third coffee shop. I can see it doing a bit of trade in the morning rush but not much after that as most passengers on these platforms later on will generally have had more time to call in at one of the other two outlets en route to the platform.

I use the station a lot - There's been a few times recently where I've rushed over to my platfom, then realsied I could have grabbed a coffee from Platform 1, but I didn't have time to go back - one on platform 3 / 4 would be great. Maybe 5/6 will get one next?

Before I changed jobs they were measuring this out on Thursday I saw it being worked on. Not for me as I tend to get a coffee when I get to New Street

Not a new shop opening but an old(ish) shop now remaining. The closing down sale posters on Carpet Right in Queens have now been replaced with posters saying that they are not now closing.
