Stafford Sleaze and Scandal

Sleazathon brewing at new Redhill industrial estate near M6 J14, where hedge and trees have been removed, allegedly without p permission. Allegedly again, developer then tipped off about complaints, resulting in clandestine operation to fill in holes. And guess who owns adjacent site (unallegedly)?

Do you think these Conservative councillors are going to vote against dear Mr Heenan at their special meeting. Of course not. But we all know now what dodgy deals there have been.

Enjoying a drop of red.

When it really comes down to it though, they don't care that we know, because they know there is sod all we can do about it. Sure we can vote them out at the next election but all we'll achieve is electing a different bunch of crooks with their snouts in the trough.

Heads they win, tails we lose.

At least an independent will merely be self serving, and not have a corporate master they must obey. For that reason alone a corrupt local is worth more than a corrupt national as they will have more need for local support.

Too much of this happening in the stafford area but when it's challenged the SBC Planners aren't bothered and state that there aren't any preservation orders on the hedges or trees. All good for greedy landowners but bad for the environment.

What this town needs is a good talking to by a man of influence in a position of power

I propose we hire a high ranking MP with an impeccable record of sleaze and false expense accounting to address local councillors and business leaders at a Stafford venue who's future is in doubt because of Government cuts

Reeeesult!!

Trebles all round!

What if the Tory sheep realise that voting to keep him would make them accessories to the crime he's apparently admitted to? The media will have a field day, particularly if the Friend of Dave link emerges. Who knows, the embarrassment might be so great that they'd have to make sure the hospital was fixed and given a definite future?

Don't let apathy rule, go to the public gallery for the meeting next week!

The tawdry tardy lazy limpwits that are "the media" are incapable of any investigative journalism beyond working out that Paddington station stopped selling Cornish Pasties a few year's ago

The day of field is over

Surprise, surprise, nothing in the Snoozesletter about the sham council and its lost leader. Anyone would think he had an influence over the editorial content.

As it's such a hot topic effecting the Town, you would have thought there Would be some coverage of this issue, very disappointing.

He does talk about "all the joys of spring as projects go ahead" in the politically speaking section though, who's projects though? No mention of the lights though this week

Any lack of Heenan bashing by the snoozeletter is not down to his influence. It is purely down to it being a p**s poor paper.

I think there is possibly an element of not wishing to bite the hand that feeds, sort of thing. How many of the 'stories' per issue are essentially puff pieces from the SBC press office? I w0uld imagine they'd be a bit fearful of turning that tap off by upsetting the apple cart and *insert more cliches here - Ed*

Does that make it a p**s poor paper?

It probably does, yes.

Press Office? Sounds a bit grand for SBC's One Man and His Dog fouling operation.

For want of a better, and all that.

I would seriously consider the strobes@ line of enquiry, a la Mr.M's post somewhere up there^ if you can put a bit of flesh on the bones.

Seems to me to be perfect ROTTEN BOROUGHS fodder. :)

Anyone with a few hours to kill should look at the docs for planning app 13/18791/FUL, especially 1572650, relating to Land at Trinity Fields owned by Inglewood Divestment Co. More hedges and trees gone AWOL in Feb, it seems?
