Tesco have announced they will close 43 stores

I don't for one minute think the Newport Road site is on that list

But wouldn't miss the traffic if it were

Can I get from Baswich to Milford via a Brocton?
This - says Poole Lane is "closed*" - http://www.bbc.co.uk/travel/stoke/incidents/road/roadworks - it that is true, then "No".

It does rather depend upon where it is closed, and where in Milford you want to get to....

..you could go from Baswich to the Crem > Tixall and into Milford from that direction - I think..

* Although it says "closed", it describes the disruption as "minor", so, who knows..?

Yes.

At least you could the weekend before last - the X25 took me to Wolseley that way.

Edit - not a euphemism

Correct :) Be careful on the way back though as Brocton crossroads is worse than usual and so dangerous. Highways really need to do something with this junction.

They would have been better off putting a set of lights on Brocton Crossroads no need for the speed cams then

They

Have a lot to answer for

Better off - a term of wealth

Traffic lights - cost liability maintenance liability

Speed cams - revenue building

All calculable and clearly defined within allocated budgets

Road traffic collisions

Cost - the highest in terms of life

Cost - monetary , more research needed

Conclusion - Tixall

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
If SCC did put an island at the Brocton crossroads it would only be a mini-island as they would only have to pay for the paint then.

Knowing that junction has always been a nightmare i'm really surprised the Highways haven't insisted Severn Trent install temp traffic lights for the duration at least

A highways study has been done on the Junction at Brocton (before the roadworks started i might add) and it was found that there had not been enough accidents to warrant the costs firstly of having a roundabout as this would involve the widening of the road and paving area and the insurance cost of accident clean ups compared to installation of traffic lights was not high enough either. It had been decided that as there is insufficient traffic passing through the junction that a reduction in speed limit from 40 to 30 would suffice! As I and others daily take my life in my own hands trying to cross the Brocton junction can i just say thanks to whoever thought it was a good idea!

The speed reduction does work I agree but the added traffic movement at present I still think it needs at least Temp Lights if only at peak times
