You know your problem, you've caught one of those mental illnesses. That's what everyone is saying. They're all saying it, I can hear them ;)

I understand that George, the glass collector, is now residing in Stone - possibly part of his long-running programme of moving to Crewe. I don't know if this is a result of the time that I graciously gave him a lift 'home', only to find that he'd moved and couldn't remember where to. The coppers were very good about it and it all got sorted fairly quickly...

Unfortunately the bench outside home bargains appears to be a place for those who have a passion for the strong stuff. On the last 2 Fridays ambulances have been called.

The Church opposite Wilkinsons also appears to be a shelter for those with a passion.

The same guys are there most mornings, I assume they sleep in the entrance most nights. Seem pleasant enough.

Is this Russian Rob?

A few years ago I was waiting for husband in town when a bloke on a mobility scooter nearly ran me over. He was in his 50s/60s tall and well built but unkempt, with grey hair and a bushy beard and wearing what looked like a leather dress or apron.
He jumped off the scooter, half apologised then started ranting & shouting about being a tennis/badminton champion for England when he was younger!

Stafford tramp or just some mad randomer?

I remember growing up; he wasn't far off my age so I used to see him quite a bit about town. He was quite s skinny thing but I never got the impression that he would have turned out the way he has. Mental illness one would presume, as he never exhibited any of the characteristics he's known for now.

How do I edit this?
A lady with a shopping trolley full of cat boxes (no evidence of them being occupied that I could see) seems to have moved in under one of the canal bridges on the stretch between Radford Bank and Baswich Lane. Seen her there twice now, a couple of weeks apart.
