Stafford Rangers must be a busy bunch !!
yes they are, as we reported this morning manager Tim Flowers has left the club by "mutual concent" after only a few months in charge. Reserve team coach Matt Elliott will take charge of the team for tonight local derby with AFC Telford - a must win game for Rangers. The search for a replacement has already started and news from the club this afternoon is a possible new manager will be at Marston Rd tonight watching the game from the stand.

Given that you only ever come to The Forum to post in this one thread, and are essentially using the place for free advertising (we've even given you your own button under Useful Links, which as you can see not many people have), I assume you are constantly giving shout-outs to Stafford Forum when broadcasting, and giving out our full URL? ;)

Sorry, real life means I never get a chance to listen, so the above is a genuine question. I notice there is no link to Stafford Forum on your web site, so I would like to think that you are promoting us in some fashion!

Having been 'off sick' for last week n half,i've listened a lot to Stafford Super Radio, can't say i've noticed the forum being mentioned once. I do occasionally get sumat eat n drink,so it's possible that you've been talked about at some point.

Oh come on Admin... thanks for this but I'm a little surprised to find it on here, thought you may of PM’d these questions and concerns rather than post in an open public forum as they are directly aimed at us and not anyone else?

By posting your comments here, am I correct to assume you are not entirely comfortable with my posts to promote a Stafford Radio Station, which involves local people trying to promote the Stafford music scene, Stafford Rangers and local sport, Stafford Town and it’s people and Stafford Business and Stafford charities? We are a non profit making community enterprise trying to work with the Stafford forum to promote the interests of the local community.
We do regularly promote the Stafford Forum on air including the topics currently under discussion and also the URL. I’m a little disappointed that since our launch on 1 November last year you have not managed to give us a listen which does seem obvious from your comments and questions. We are grateful that the Stafford Forum have placed a short cut icon on the site, our site is currently a long way off completion and we would be more than happy to return the complement.
Also, we do not just visit the forum to promote the station. We also read though the topics currently being discussed and debated as these are relevant to our listeners and also a good talking point on air which generates feedback and opinion.

I'm not sure why you've taken my perfectly innocent and reasonable question with such hostility. :/

I posted my question in this thread for various reasons. For a start, the username Super-radio-stafford is shared by many different people (i.e. all the DJs) so I wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to see it, and not just whoever picked up the PM. Secondly, as per my post, I unfortunately do not get a chance to listen to your station very often, so I was hoping others could help me out and answer my question. Which is exactly what Glam has done, above!

Why on earth would you assume that?? I have gone out of my way to help you and your station, as I regularly do for any person or enterprise that is promoting Stafford! I do this all on my own time, for no cost, other than to myself.

So is Stafford Forum. We don't even have adverts, and are not sponsored by anyone. The only reason this place exists is because someone was willing to put their own money (and continue to do so) behind it!

Well that's exactly my question! How are you working "with" Stafford Forum? I was merely asking if you were giving us regular shout-outs, in the same way that you regularly "shout-out" your station on The Forum. Again, I don't understand why you have taken it with such umbrage. :(

Excellent, I'm glad to hear that, thanks. :)

I would be interested to hear from other Forumites who listen as to how often they hear The Forum mentioned, and what topics are brought up! I'm obviously interested to know what topics are deemed interesting enough for radio. :)

I have listened on more than one occasion, but as I say my real world commitments mean that I am unable to listen to Internet Radio at all very often.

Excellent, that was exactly the intention from the start.

As long as The Forum is getting mentioned and promoted, in the same way that we are doing for you guys, everyone is happy. :)

Thanks.

I think the idea is that the forum is supposed to be a two way thing and it may be felt by some members that super Radio is just using the forum for free plugs for it's various internet offerings (mainly Rangers matches) without actually participating and adding to the discussions.

A few posts under my belt
Well said the Gov !

I'm also fed up with the incessant, uninspiring posts - and I've never heard Stafford Forum mentioned on air once (but then again I've got pretty bored listening recently). At least this Forum has plenty of followers, on Shoutcast there are usually only ever 6 listeners !

Just to make it clear, I'm fully supportive of Super Radio Stafford, as I'm sure everyone is. As I mentioned before, I am always eager to support ventures in Stafford, non-profit or otherwise. I'm sure everyone here wants nothing but the best for our lovely little town, otherwise they wouldn't be here, and anything that can raise its profile can only be a good thing. :)

My question was posted in good faith, was a legitimate question, and I was merely looking for feedback given all the effort Stafford Forum has put in, as unfortunately I'm unable to listen to Super Radio Stafford as often as I would like so can't find out for myself. So I turned to the same place I always turn when I need local help: the faithful Forumites of Stafford Forum. :)

Wembley1972, I think you misunderstood the intent of my post. Hopefully the DJs behind Forumite Super-radio-stafford haven't taken similar umbrage, and we continue to share a cosy relationship and help each other out!

I look forward to the continued comments from other Forumites; as I say, it's the only way I can get updates, alas!

Thanks. :)
