Hi Tequilla Red,
I did some work on the old Sun Inn web site (soon to expire).
I think it might be a good idea to have a site up and running if only for Address, Phone and Menu details...

Let me know if you're interested, or if anyone else thinks this would be a good idea. We need to promote any new business in Stafford as much as possible!

I notice that they could supply muscles, but it doesn't define which organism they're from.

They also want you to drop in for a "quite" drink. Generally a very nice website though.

Well after spotting the big banner proclaiming good food/drink all day, every day (or something to that effect) I went down there today with my GF. It was closed again, how the fook does that equate to the every day bit above the door? May have just been closed sunday afternoons but could see no sign of opening times, so have just written it off TBH. If I'm passing I may go in (if its ever open!) but can't see me planning to go there. Bit hard to as I never know when its open! So sorry TR, gonna have to give you a miss. Shame as I liked the food last time round, is it really that hard to tell people when you're open?

This does seem to be a common trend re Muse Tapas Restaurant. Pastiche is also in a quite obscure location and yet is always busy. The difference I guess is that the owners of Pastiche have produced a decent website and email their menus on a regular basis.

TBH if you can't open regular hours, you can't expect to get regular customers. Both places should take note, nobody will plan to go somewhere that is often closed for no reason.

That reminds me of a lovely gentleman from the U.S. who, in check pants and bright red hunting jacket, bellowed at the window of a pub in Stratford up Avion, to open the Godamn doors!

The sign outside said 'Now open All day' - it was 9.15am and I did think of trying to explain - but why spoil free entertainment?

A better result was in County Cork when we slipped into a bar at around the same time of day to be told that they couldnt sell us a pint yet as they werent officially open - but he could 'give' us a couple of beers, and he did. Naturally we stayed for another 5 or 6 to repay his kindness. When another gentleman from the US stuck his head in the door a little after our arrival he was told the firmly the bar was closed. Upon seeing us two drinking merrily he asked why we were able to sup the Guinness and not he - only to be told with the straightest sternest face u ever saw 'theyre the official tasters'.

A good friend of mine ran a pub in darkest Laois. When confronted by a council environmental health inspector about the state of the gents' toilets he informed her that 'They come in here to piss, not to eat sandwiches off the floor!' She accepted his submission and went on her way.

We heard a rumour at our gig at Ashiana's on Friday night, tried all weekend to get in touch with the pub and the landlord (as we have a show booked there in a week's time) but got no response at all.

Contacted one of the bar staff whom we know socially, but this person was none the wiser.

After further phonecalls and messages, we were finally contacted today by the Bird In The Hand (who have some business relationship with Tequila's landlord) and they confirmed that it has closed down.
