Can't find a thread specifically about the Grapes so I've started a new one, I'm sure the powers that be can merge it if necessary.

Anyway there is a sign on the pub saying that a New Publican is required.

Partnership lease being offered by EI Publican Partnership (ie Enterprise Inns)

It has had that sign up since at least the end of October.

Not been hearing good things about current set up.

Could do well under right management. Not everyone`s cup of tea but works well as a music venue for local bands.

Grapes now shut for conversion to a sports bar and I'm told enterprise is putting a manager in rather than a tennant. They are now setting up a managed pub arm.

A shame. Weve already got a great sports bar (kennys). What stafford needs is an intimate live music venue.

I’ve only been in a couple of times but it seems to be getting the gigs, including bands I’ve actually heard of (which given I stopped listening to new music about 10 years ago is not bad going!)

I haven't been to any gigs yet, but considering they are getting ex Ramones, ex Misfits, Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Ataris and Sonic Boom 6 (just as a handful of examples) we have a great music venue in Redrum. I hear they are all well attended.

Yes and people actually travel to go there too from other towns.

The Grapes was open this afternoon & had a notice outside saying "Open all day, everyday". Don't know anyone who has been in though.

Yes, I saw that ystday, Friday and my immediate thought was' who would want to go in there in the day.' I associate the place with being dragged in there by drunken friends or drunken self for late night drinking and dancing and music.
