Why can't they do half pub, half indian restaurant? I would suspect the customer base transfers both ways.
The Triangle in Burntwood operates slightly like that, there's an Indian right next door, and, AFAIK, it's been going for years.
No use to us in Stafford though...

It could work at Casa - kitchen + bar + taxi rank next door

Also the machine in the ladies offers a vide variety of goods - if they just add a pint of milk and a loaf of wholemeal that'll surely count as the groceries box ticked

Can't see it on their website.
They are awaiting clients approval on details apparently. They have guided it at offers over £275,000!

That seems reasonable, its a pretty big property.

I believe it was purchased for around 600 k but the yew tree went for something in that region

I guess VAT would be on top

Pub prices are now reflecting true market value however house prices have a way to go before reality bites

Nice as it is, I'd be very wary of buying a place others have failed to make sufficient profit on. Lets just hope it doesn't get sold for flats.

EDIT: Saying that, imagine having the whole place as your house. You'd have your own bar you could smoke in again!

It quotes Norton Bridge station as being 4.7 miles away - does anything actually stop there these days?.

I'm pretty sure there isn't even a station there these days
I understand that they have removed the footbridge and to replace it with one in current compliance would not be a small cost...

Used to love the beef stroganoff at the H&C years ago. Real shame it's had to close but it must be so difficult for rural pubs nowadays.

I hear that The Vaughan at Lapley has been bought and is due to re-open. Not soon I'd think from looking at the state of it from the outside.

The Hand and Cleaver appears to have had an offer of 300,000 Scottish pound notes on it to convert to a giant single dwelling

V sad but predictable.

Happened to drive past the other day and there were two big Horsleys vans in the car park with the doors open.

Drove past the next day and there was no sign of life.

In the spirit of being really really nosey decided to take a detour home today and have another looksey.

It turns out that no one bought the pub when it was up for sale, the bank have employed a manager and they're hoping to get the place trading within the next three weeks.

I've got to say I'm surprised, I never thought the place would open up again but I'm glad it has.

If the food is half as good as when Cathy and Trevor were there I'll be happy

Interesting strategy

Property had I believe a £495k mortgage on it ( purchase price of £595k just before the crash of 2008) - the then owners went into liquidation

So, if nobody offered anything over the latest £275k asking price I suppose the bank are looking for some kind of return until/if prices begin to rise again

Not sure how much of the kitchen remains so it could well be a big ASK on the scran front, and yes you wont be compared favourable to Trevor however good you are

Let us know if you find out the date of the doors reopening please, its a good place for 'business' meetings :P
