Move to Wales, find a spare valley and pitch a tent. Drink stream water, farm vegetables and hunt rabbits/birds/sheep. Job done, you're not part of the system any more.

Well if people got together and organised it for themselves instead of leaving it to the bureaucrats, it would probably be better and I don't think they'd be happy about being out of a job.tek-monkey said:So you're part of the system, and you need to be to survive. I just can't get how you can be so anti the thing that keeps you alive. If everybody did as you did then you'd be dead, because non of us would pay the taxes you rely on. Plus of course all the other things taxes pay for that you need, like bin collection, street lighting, emergency services....Lunar Scorpion said:words
What, you mean anarcho-communism? Oh yeah, no can do because I still have to suffer the rulership (ownership?!) by the 'powers that be' or they can make my life hell. The only other option is to find a sugar daddy, so if you know of anyone suitable feel free to send 'em my way...MyCult said:Lunar. Find another dog.
If you can tell me where I can find a suitable piece of land that I won't get kicked off, I would gladly go to that place with a tent by foot if I have to.tek-monkey said:Move to Wales, find a spare valley and pitch a tent. I thought that I'd found it, but they still have to pay £50 a week to the Head Hippy.Lunar Scorpion said:If you can tell me where I can find a suitable piece of land that I won't get kicked off, I would gladly go to that place with a tent by foot if I have to.tek-monkey said:Move to Wales, find a spare valley and pitch a tent. Although I find it quite offensive that I should have to move far away from my homelands (i.e. the Silkmore area of Stafford) to live my life the way I choose.
Yuck, middle-class...Gramaisc said:I thought that I'd found it, but they still have to pay £50 a week to the Head Hippy.Lunar Scorpion said:If you can tell me where I can find a suitable piece of land that I won't get kicked off, I would gladly go to that place with a tent by foot if I have to.tek-monkey said:Move to Wales, find a spare valley and pitch a tent. I've just spotted that it is from The Daily Mail and I am disappointed that my internet security system let that through!
I DO FRICKING WORK as I must have already said about 6 billion times on this forum. I work on Mondays (usually from about 10am for a couple of hours or more) and Thursdays (from lunchtime till 5pm, apart from the occasional early finish - so about 4 hours) at the Parent Partnership Service at 13 Lichfield Road. I receive no tangible reward except cups of tea, etc. and occasionally biscuits or even cake - on one occasion I brought in my own cake to share. I don't even claim travel expenses, which I could do because it costs me £1.10 to get there on the bus from my house (although I sometimes walk). If you don't believe me, the phone number is 356291. Obviously I didn't go today because no one is there, and I could have had this Thursday off as most people only work during term time but I am still going in because I want to and I like being there around people who fooking APPRECIATE me. I got up at 9-9:30am this morning and spent practically the whole day leafleting followed by a meeting after I had spent an hour or two at a friend's house. I spent twelve hours out of the house, and only about two hours of that time was spent doing something that was completely down to my free will. If you can live on £50.95 or sixty-something pounds a week if you're 25+ then quit your job and live like me. Don't want to? Fine, I'm not fooking making you so STOP FOOKING TELLING ME TO GET A JOB, or I might just do that and you will all have heart attacks and DIE.MyCult said:I think that is a very, very admirable way of life. Why should I, I'm happy to live within the system. Thats why I have a job, a house, and a massive garden to grow stuff in. I find it quite offensive that you expect a free ride, just because you choose not to work. I don't know what political system you wish to live under, but I have never been aware of one that treats parasites as equals. At best your kin would be expected to pay your way, if you were unable to provide for yourself. As it is you are better provided for than an awfully large proportion of the worlds population, despite refusing to give anything back. You should love the system for what it gives you, you put so much energy into hating something which cares for you better than your own family does. It feeds, clothes and houses you, for which you repay it nothing. This enemy state that you hate so much, acts like a loving parent towards you. Always giving, despite the lack of any love back.Lunar Scorpion said:If you can tell me where I can find a suitable piece of land that I won't get kicked off, I would gladly go to that place with a tent by foot if I have to.

I choose not to have A JOB, because I have yet to find one that I want to do. Please see my previous post for the rest as I am SICK TO FOOKING DEATH of your sick, twisted, fooked up ideas about what fooking contributing involves you IGNORANT FOOKING BASTARD. And you wonder why I wanted to get off this forum... LET'S ALL ATTACK LUNAR FOR BEING A BUM BECAUSE WE'RE WAGE SLAVES SO WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO ATTACK ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH THE SYSTEM LET'S ALL BOW DOWN TO THE GREAT GOD, THE CYSTERN! Have you ever wondered what you'd do if they took your benefits off you?
Probably, I couldn't care less right now. The whole work/benefits/money thing tends to be a big trigger and I want to keep the most recent episode of self-injury to being early January this year thank you very much. Tranforming my mental pain into a physical form is very therapeutic at the time, but in the long term it results in decreasing self-respect and focuses more energy on that which I don't want.Rikki said:I assume you mean cistern not cystern?
Just FOOK OFF. I am sick of repeating myself over and over, and generally I do take responsibility for myself and with my 24th birthday in a few months, I think I might have got over the fact I'm not a child anymore, so stop making assumptions about me. I don't really want for anything either, except to be able to provide for myself by doing something that I find meaningful and fulfilling. After my experiences of working in retail jobs (particularly the one I had when the frequency I took baths reduced and my sleep pattern messed up), the (usually boring and repetitive) work I do for free is like being in heaven.tek-monkey said:I just want to know what system you expect to live under, that would allow everyone to do as they please yet be provided for. You're not a child anymore, you have to take responsibility for yourself at some point. Maybe I am twisted, but I actually get some pleasure from knowing that I am making my own way in life. That everything I have, everything I do, is because I worked for it. I get satisfaction from achievement, be it getting my degree or a new job, I know it based entirely on me and my abilities. I suppose I just expect most people are like this, as pretty much everyone I've known is.
At the end of the day I enjoy life, I'm a generally happy individual and whilst not rich by any stretch of the imagination I don't really want for anything. All I need to do is put in 37.5 hours a week working, it seems a fair trade. Maybe the reason I don't mind this is because I did do the shit jobs, the ones people can't wait to get out of, and hence appreciate a decent job a lot more? Who knows, its impossible to tell.
I don't want to, I just want everyone to shut the fook up about me and work because I actually like working - why the feck would I waste 6 hours of my week doing it for nothing when I could get paid for it if I didn't want to...MyCult said:FFS this has become another 'scorp inspired discussion. I have already told you...tek-monkey said:I just want to know what system you expect to live under, that would allow everyone to do as they please yet be provided for.
So find a country that uses this system, and move there. Doesn't seem to be too many that use it though, and has quite a few pitfalls from what I can see in my brief look through the article. The main one being that the sort of people who want this system have nothing, so essentially they would need to be given a country, means of production and everything else they require. I.e. a free ride, at least at the start.Lunar Scorpion said:I have already told you...tek-monkey said:I just want to know what system you expect to live under, that would allow everyone to do as they please yet be provided for.
This is like saying "if you don't like England, go back home" - unfortunately, it is my home and I have every right to stay here. Besides, I don't think I'd get very far without a passport or travel documents and if I do then I'd probably get caught and sent back in no time.tek-monkey said:So find a country that uses this system, and move there.Lunar Scorpion said:I have already told you...tek-monkey said:I just want to know what system you expect to live under, that would allow everyone to do as they please yet be provided for.
Possibly because you skipped to the 'Criticisms' section, or you just didn't read it properly at all...tek-monkey said:Doesn't seem to be too many that use it though, and has quite a few pitfalls from what I can see in my brief look through the article. FFS, I think you're missing the point - there is no 'system' to be worked, there are no earnings and there is no ownership of land!tek-monkey said:Now if a collective got together, worked the system, and used their earnings to actually buy land to live on, they could start something.
Read my previous comments, and then one day you might see where the problem is.tek-monkey said:Up in Scotland there is plenty of land that is unused, same in Wales. Much like those 'Yuck, middle-class...' lot did, they have their own commune. Is that not the sort of thing you want? So all you need is a bunch of like minded people, who are willing to get a job. Where is the problem?
Work THIS system, if you don't like your situation then change it. Get some like minded people together, earn some money and buy some land. Once the land is yours, you can do as you please. Well, within reason, but I think you are being very conceited expecting the entire country to change to suit your wishes. This can only happen when a majority wants it, or the majority are so apathetic that they just let things happen. And I'm glad.Lunar Scorpion said:FFS, I think you're missing the point - there is no 'system' to be worked, there are no earnings and there is no ownership of land!
So which is this? If you want something, you look at where you are and where you want to be. Break down that journey into steps, and make the first one. If you can find no path then may the lord grant you serenity, because there isn't a lot else you can do but get on with life.Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Nope, I just can't see it working. How does it pander to the human traits of greed, selfishness and laziness? The whole idea of 'From those who are able, to those in need' falls at the first hurdle when resources are scarce. Those doing the work will not stand by and give the spoils of their labour to those who can't be bothered, if it means sacrificing their own needs. It all seems to rely on people being, well, 'good people'. And the fact is, most aren't. Most people are selfish, doing only as much as they need to survive. Hell, given this system I may well take your own stance, and do nothing unless I decide I want to that day. Will you work for me, make me food, provide me with clothes and shelter, while I sit scratching my arse and staring at the sun? If so, then indeed you are right and the system rocks.Lunar Scorpion said:Possibly because you skipped to the 'Criticisms' section, or you just didn't read it properly at all...
