The Old Library, The Green - Soon to be Diva World Buffet restaurant

It will be so lovely to be able to get back in that building again, almost on any pretext. I spent some really happy Saturday afternoons in the old gallery. I loved the feeling of the building. Something to do with the lighting, the peace, the dust suspended, shining, in the air.

I miss the old library and will happily eat there as long as there is a meat-free alternative or sandwich available for me.

Oh gosh...what if they spoil it...? If the lighting is wrong I won't forgive them...

Hi guys, just out of curiosity... Is there any parking near the old library where diva world will be? Especially disabled parking??

(I rarely shop in stafford - only when i'm waiting for my car from citroen!)

...closing Diva to expand and open Diva World at Stafford. Diva closed it doors last night for the final time and Diva World should be opening within 3 months or so.
Um, just to be pedantic....if they're expanding, then why close one place just to open in another? Surely that's not expanding, merely moving?

The idea of closing the old place before the new one opens does seem odd if its making a profit, surely the kitchen/waiting staff aren't involved in the refit here?

i'm just looking forward to an indian buffet! and as flossietoo says, it's such a lovely building that is currently laying waste, so it will be nice to get back in there - i hope they treat it with respect in the refurb :)

wouldn't it be amazing if they reinstated the library, in some fashion, so you could flick through a good book (perhaps one on indian cuisine, or the history of indian immigration to britain, etc.) while gorging yourself on food :teef:

It does strike me as a bit of a posh place to have spittoons..?

Nothing wrong with a bit of spit & sawdust!

Looking forward to Indian buffet, I've only ever had Chinese buffet so it will be a good chance for a change, and to try new dishes.

I love the idea of an Indian buffet, but every time lately I've tried somewhere other than narvana I've been disappointed. Was bengal spice last night, never again. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing technically wrong with the food, it was just nowhere near as good.
