As for the footy, AFAIK the sound was up last time I was in. Didn't pay that much attention though TBH.

On which nights are there no football games?
On my recent evening visit (last Thursday, I think) there was no football downstairs. Otherwise I think you may have to wait til the WC finishes.

Bah :( and when will that be?
Someone who gives a s* about football will be along in a minute to answer that one. :)
England will be knocked out on Sunday, so everything will be more or less back to normal...

A lot of places will continue to show the rest of the matches whether we're still in or not. Reckon it'll just be the Ingerland bandwagon pubs that don't bother.

I'll continue to watch whether we get knocked out on Sunday or not, so hopefully you're right.

The football is only on upstairs in P&A so you can still sit, eat and drink downstairs without being overly affected by the match. It's not full of pissed-up arseholes falling all over the place. Well...I've not fallen over yet.

Footy just wouldn't be right without a load of pissed up arseholes falling over.

And the spectators!

Watched the match here again yesterday - great atmosphere and not too busy. Had the cold meat & cheese platter this time and it was spot on...perfect for a hot afternoon.

One question Mr P&A: One of the cheeses was bright purple, so before eating it I assumed it would be beetrooty. It actually has a strong blackberry/strawberry flavour, which was totally unexpected yet not unpleasant. Is that what it is?
No, it is a Derby with Port, hence the colour.

Apres had a delightful billboard outside last Saturday.
"World Cup Games Shown Here. England Games With Sound."
Mr P&A, are you showing every televised game with the sound turned up? :)
We show all the games with sound upstairs on two screens. Downstairs is as normal without screens, so, people can choose. Best of both worlds I would say Shoes!

I'll see you in there, I just wont know what you look like!

Looks like I'll be down from 5ish, aiming to drink many apples then eat pie when shoes arrives. Is that Fabio pie still on the menu, or has it also made an exit?

Excellent, will have me one of those tomorrow :D

Unless its too hot, as I may then try the summer menu. How are people liking that meat and cheese platter? Been tempted a few times.

Mixed platter is most popular so far. Knocked some menu items on the head TBH, people are still eating pies, incredible!

The Missus and I visited the PandA House for the first time on Wednesday evening.

The Minty lamb pie and the seafood platter were both delicious although I did once have a spaniel called Minty, no relation I hope ;)

Will definitely be returning.
