The Post House Stafford.

Unfortunately the Post House is now closed and therefore the Cartoon Kings have has to be cancelled for tomorrow night (15th July 2016)"

Rather short notice and rather odd wording.

So the Cartoon Kings were told about the closure over 24 hours before the Post House put it on their own facebook page.

So it would seem - well, around 21 hours anyway - I was reluctant to post my source at the time, in case they had misunderstood the situation, but it seems not..

Vodka Revs

A council that puts all its money and faith into a tax avoiding developer is never going to try to selectively support independent local traders in the night time economy

Stafford is once again controlled by multinationals and nationals - ruthless cynical trade organisations who drain local towns and cities of wealth instead of circulating the money back within the population

And ting

What's it got to do with the council? I hate when the closure of a business is blamed on local people 'we were great and only shut because you're philistines'.
It was loud, expensive, slow and run with an unwarranted sense of superiority. I gave it a go. I gave it several goes. I didn't like it enough to become a regular. Evidently many others felt the same.
Hopefully it will be taken on by an experienced firm who can make it work.

On the basis it has been refurbed, admittedly in a slightly curious manor, and it is massive in a fab location - I can't imagine it will be empty for long before someone else has a go at it.

It has so much potential, it will just need deep pockets to get it up and running again.

There's a comment from someone who is listed as an employee on their Facebook:

Amy Lee Hampsey-Bartram can I say on behalf of the post house that it was only as of yesterday it had closed and no one is able to get in the building to answer the phones or email... As soon as someone is they will be in touch with everyone regarding events booked in the future.

Nothing personal

But please don't add this to your already large portfolio Lewis partnership

Having said that

The place is now owned by a local lotto winner is it not?

Or did I dream that one

NOTE Always have the crumble - the cheese board does things to your REM

Actually I think the post office house would make a great film set for the new TV series The Only Way is Doxey

The Post House is a fantastic building / venue but it has been poorly run.

I thought removing the restaurant was the wrong decision. It also became very selective when it opened. Also the quality of beer was very poor. After having far too many bad pints I stopped going.
