Good point Gramps, sorry, Grams!Being even older (I suspect), it sounds like much harder work to do it 'your way'.
The post house to my understanding is now an events establishment for hire, such as the three weddings in the last month.
it is still a bar and club of an evening (not all)/ weekend but i think the food part may be on the back burner. The place has an interesting and quite entertaining line up for this weekend.
I have been told that only a lease has been taken by some casa chaps, no idea if ant part of this story us true.
I get what people say about the management. Since it was put in the hands of brother and sister of the foster family, it does seem to gave been poorly run almost as a hey look at what I have got bragging rights type of hobby.
neither brother nor sister have any clue about the service industry, management nor customer services, instead seem to use the venue to get their mugs in camera shot more than anything.
hopefully it can be run properly and be the venue it deserves after the family spent millions doing up.
As it's no longer owned by the same company then it's highly unlikely. However, as a good-will gesture it would be nice.I never heard back about whether the vouchers I have, still stand.
Quotes like that, are a bit below the belt. The brother you seem to know so much (or little) about happens to be a director of a successful Staffordshire based service company. Trading for over 30 years, he has grown the company to be one of the largest suppliers of foliage displays in the UK.
Now the Post House has been taken over, we will see whether the problem is all down to the previous management or whether the problem more linked to local trading conditions. The list of independent businesses that the good folk of Stafford have waved goodbye to, grows by the week. Were they all badly run? Would they have flourished or at least survived elsewhere?
I make no recommendations.By their description it sounds exactly the same...
I'm hearing fairly reliable rumours that the Post House may have closed.
Certainly, a gig there seems to have been cancelled on that basis,
Maybe, in time, someone may do something useful with the place, like say open it as a Post Office?
