The Post House, Stafford

The post house to my understanding is now an events establishment for hire, such as the three weddings in the last month.

it is still a bar and club of an evening (not all)/ weekend but i think the food part may be on the back burner. The place has an interesting and quite entertaining line up for this weekend.

I have been told that only a lease has been taken by some casa chaps, no idea if ant part of this story us true.

I get what people say about the management. Since it was put in the hands of brother and sister of the foster family, it does seem to gave been poorly run almost as a hey look at what I have got bragging rights type of hobby.

neither brother nor sister have any clue about the service industry, management nor customer services, instead seem to use the venue to get their mugs in camera shot more than anything.

hopefully it can be run properly and be the venue it deserves after the family spent millions doing up.

Two people linked to Casa have taken over. There was a story in the freebie copy of the E&S that comes through my door. There was a quote from one of them basically saying that they want to aim at the 'older' market as there's limited choice for those in that customer base outside of The Swan. It also mentioned the place has very high running costs which will restrict opening to 3-4 nights a week.

Quotes like that, are a bit below the belt. The brother you seem to know so much (or little) about happens to be a director of a successful Staffordshire based service company. Trading for over 30 years, he has grown the company to be one of the largest suppliers of foliage displays in the UK.

Now the Post House has been taken over, we will see whether the problem is all down to the previous management or whether the problem more linked to local trading conditions. The list of independent businesses that the good folk of Stafford have waved goodbye to, grows by the week. Were they all badly run? Would they have flourished or at least survived elsewhere?

Enjoying a drop of red.
I never heard back about whether the vouchers I have, still stand.
As it's no longer owned by the same company then it's highly unlikely. However, as a good-will gesture it would be nice.

Mind, so would answering you one way or another be nice...

Not below the belt at all, sections of the family got involved in a game they knew nothing about and unfortunately for this venue it shows. You only have to look at its inconsistencies on operation and customers feedback to figure that one out. Let alone to see their public relation skills on the likes of TripAdvisor etc and even on here.

in the service industry to survive at the very least you need a good business model, good management, good customer relation skills and knowing your market. I would like to say otherwise here but it is not the case

No need to wait

It was a screeching disgrace

I'm hearing fairly reliable rumours that the Post House may have closed.

Certainly, a gig there seems to have been cancelled on that basis,

Having the loudest music system in a battle with the Coach and Horses must have really impressed residents of nearby apartments

If WH Smith closes I can suggest a use for the building

Oh dear, shame really.

Well, at least the building is water tight for a few years thanks to these guys.

It may be closed for a longer period than before, just a hunch.

Hardly a shock, great work by the family to restore but they hadn't a bloody clue how to run the place. Run like a daddies play thing.

the 2 new chaps from came in did nothing. I know of a least a couple of events taking place and the organisers have had no notice just a comment on facebook. If true shocking, such a place wouldn't have such mixed reviews nor close down.

Can't see any worthwhile come back for this place under it current guise. Real shame

don't mention the blinds
So there we have it, The post office, the shire hall, the green, the ancient high house, Stanton's, Boults sweet shop, ham jumbo's, the pageant, underground toilets, waddo, Jed, etc........
