I can opt to choose to be free of tie on local ales so I'm able to buy and sell any ones beer

Don't suppose that includes ciders? Is it only local ones? You'd make a decent stop off point on the way to the fox, but not if you sell the usual suspects.

If you choose this mission it may encourage flabby bald men to walk down an old railway track and visit you

I was best mates with a lad from Derrington back in the 80s and remember running down 'the line' many a weekend post 'after hours', being too tight to call for a taxi back to Doxey. Now I'm no evangelist, but the sight of the lit cross on St Thomas & St Andrews church felt like divine intervention, even for the most ardent Atheist.

Extra signage may help people stay 'on track'..?

But all I ask is bums on seats :) it's the only way it will stay open
are there any plans for sum sort of "grand reopening" or maybe a refurb ? I personally find red lion very inaccessible so only ever go in the summer so I can sit outside

According to my Dad (the dog drags him in apparently)...the owners have a fixed 5yr lease with no rent rise in the 5years. (Dad says this is why the other owners failed, they did well in their first year - but then the owners put the rent up massively & made impossible to continue).

Would be nice to hear it from the horses mouth though!

ok so today we had a meeting with enterprise 2/01/14 and agreed a deal and a very very low rent to start the pub on a good footing with a view that after 6 months the pub will then go onto a fixed 5 year deal with only RPI rent reviews after 5 years im no push over so would only agree a deal if i think its sustainable however .... this is where Stafford comes in we need more people to use us and keep using us and telling people about us... or the pub goes back to square one... lack of trade ... shutters up and we don't want that again.

Any chance of letting us know things like opening times, times food is served, beers & ciders available?
