My sister and I stayed at the Sandpiper Guest House on Marine Parade a few yrs back. Nice place, clean and tidy. Keep meaning to go back, maybe next year.
That's where we stayed this time, its a bit dated & the WiFi doesn't work on the top floor - but clean & tidy and the owners are lovely & very helpful. :)

Wonder if it's the same couple? Can't remember their names. We had a room at the back of the house, big enough to get a double bed and a full single in. Only thing I didn't enjoy about it was the sausages at breakfast time. Undercooked and had a sweet taste to them. We tried majority of eating out places, best one was the burger bar on the front, worst was a chinese restaurant tucked away along some side street, my sister found a mahoosive long hair in her noodles.

Roy & 'I can't remember the lady's name'. I only remember Roys because he made a weird & inappropriate joke about my 10yr old daughter not bringing back boyfriends after 11.30pm :(

I like those weird sausages, I also like that Chinese! Its really really tatty but the food is lovely - its got to be the same one as I'm fairly sure there's only one Chinese in town.....the owner said she may be closing the restaurant part as everyone orders take-away & the resteraunt is hardly ever full.

The Isis pizzeria was nice though.

We tried a different place every night. The burgers won hands down the last evening. Neither of us eat burgers as a rule, never have really. But, we were game to try owt.
We enjoyed the chinese, till the little un* took a mouthful, and then proceeded to pull out a hair that was long and curly. Not one of ours.
I bet it's the same people, we had them in fits of laughter 1 day, my sister has a 'thing' about smells. There was a plug in air freshener in their hallway. Well, neither of us could smell it, so she got down on all fours and stuck her nose against it. We didn't know, but it was all on cctv! Come check out, the bloke running the place couldn't tell us without tears running down his face.
That was the holiday we went to Black Rock Sands, I didn't know I could drive like I did. Massive skids on the beach, little bit scared in case the car decided to sink, but it didn't. A holiday I will never be able to repeat, cos her bloke won't let her go away without him now.

*not so little, she's 48.

I wonder if that was at 'Davey Jones Locker' ? We tried loads of places but everywhere was rammed - we will have to try to book ahead next time. (It was supposed to be a surprise trip away for me, but I found out by accident a little while before).

I went on lots of holidays to Black Rock Sands as a kid :)

Today I saw a Greater Spotted Woodpecker in my garden. Seemed disappointed at the size of my fruit trees. Departed.
