‘The sale of the B&Q investment is excellent news for the shareholders of LXB Retail Properties Plc. It is further testament to the quality of the Group’s investments that LXB has been able to achieve this sale in a cautious post-Brexit investment market. That sale and completion of the Kingsmead transaction are further significant steps in effecting an orderly disposal of the Group’s remaining assets in accordance with the shareholders’ vote in February of this year.’

Pretty straightforward but it would be more interesting to see the reasons behind the mass and rapid disposal of assets

IIRC their share price was considerably lower than the value of their assets, so their shareholders demanded they liquidate.

The statement refers to the 'Kingsmead transaction', but there's a difference of opinion about what the previous news meant. Still, it's great the council has a virtual Morrisons lined up.

I've heard it's going to be a Fine Fare! They are going to paint the cladding outside orange, green and white like the one in Newcastle.

Lxb sell of all their assets, they develop and sell and set up leases to make developments a more attractive proposition and sell for more.

that said LXB are done with retail developments and hope to have sold all their portfolio by sometime in 2017.

You forgot the bit about being subsidised by council taxpayers, then leaving them in the lurch and piling up all the profit in Jersey and the Caymans. Allegedly.

Enjoying a drop of red.

How are we left in the lurch? The council has had its money and though it would be nice if the car park opened, lack of parking spaces in town is not an issue at the moment.

The car park will open when the other retail units open, if not before, I'm sure.
