I went to Boston High School - sadly Boston in Lincolnshire not the Us. It was an all girls school for the brainy ones and I hated it - they didnt like people with ambition and we were pushed to do the sort of lessons that would make us good wives. So i have 8 O'levels but unfortunately most of them are in things like Needlework and cooking and the like. The head mistress was a right old battle axe, woe betide anyone who got on the wrong side of her! Which wasnt easy as she was as wide as she was tall!
Congratulations upon escaping one of the most remote places of England

Barrow in Furness is another...
Thank you - I was very happy to do so, having lived in Boston explains why I love Stafford so much.

Im glad you feel that way

My impressions of Boston were of a backward, possibly racist, but mainly just cut off from the rest of us in not a particularly nice way, strange town...i only made the one visit tho..

Backward, interbred, smelling of cabbage (all the farms), boring landscape, definitely racist (didnt rub off on me) and very cut off, not easy to get too town - although I'm told its improved but much to the disgust of the locals is now full of polish people!

My school days were a long time ago in Wolverhampton. Bushbury County Junior School followed by the Technical High School. The senior school was on three sites. We always had to wear a hat when off school premises and were not supposed to eat in the street. Got caught out several times and had to visit the Beak (the Headmaster - had a big nose).

You would have to ask Mr. JC. Although I'm techinically not his wife yet.
