i can't decide whether i like the new bloc party one, "hunting for witches", or not.. i normally hate them on principal, but the hook on this is such a blatant rip-off of "sweet dreams" that i can't help but like it :raise:

Hmm interesting comments there

Which bit are you on about the noodly bit ?.. thats abit like it but i think thats been done by loads of people a kind of noodly pentatonic scale well half of it .. but love the way the line "is it soo wrong " excellent vox

and the bit where no one is singing I think has some resemblance to Scary monsters the old Bowie track ?

opinion tho so don't shoot me ,

Sides best track on that album is uniform which is excellent no contest

and what's wrong with BP? I think they are great admittedly second album is not a patch on their first which was magnificent in my opinion Helicopter and Banquet being the best 2 tracks on the album . Possibly the best use of two telecasters in a song at the same time for a very long time and certainly innovative . To appreciate them properly like most beat combos I would highly recommend you see them live they are very very good honest :)

I suppose I would leap to their defence tho as one of our mates cousin is Gordon the bass player in the band ..

hmm I know Yadda yadda ..i'll shuttup now :)

ATM I'm well into Coheed and Cambrias 'Good Apollo I'm Burning Star IV Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes of Madness'

I've no idea what it's all about, but it's got really great tracks

If you like your old style Metallica or Dream Theatre - look up 'Welcome Home' or 'Ten Speed' on YouTube

... and just a warning : stay well away from your computer screen, or Claudios hair may get you! :)

Best tunes out at the moment are from YouTube star Terra Naomi, with "Not Sorry"and "First day of my life" byBright Eyes. The new Deal Like Heroes song "Barneys Song" is also fantastic. But don't take my word for it, google them and listen for yourself.

Yip not bad not bad all things considered .I'm not totally hooked on the TN track possibly because of the poor acoustic value from youtube songs ok I guess . The bright eyes track is meant to be a warm feeling inside type track and it works . Theres anice fingerstyle picking job going on but y'know I cant help thinking its been nicked from Dont think twice it's all right by Bob dylan ??? Or are my ears playing me up? its interesting to see this resurgence of the more "folky" tune coming out these days too.. all in all very nice heads up musically speaking .Ta

Finally got round to buying 'Here Come the Fuzz' by Mark Ronson. 'On the Run' is wicked - had heard it loads of times before but wasn't sure where to get hold of it, but it's on 'ere.

Been a while since I posted anything on here but the following are currently floating my very stressed boat:

Low
Jim O'Rourke
The Heads (cracking Bristol based band)
Om - Pilgrimage
Qui - Love's Miracle (ex Jesus Lizard)
White Stripes - Icky Thump (still!)

The new Foo Fighters was a surprise as well. Return to form it seems.

Oh and if anyone fancies listening to something a bit different/challenging may I recommed Super Are and Vision Creation Newsun by The Boredoms. The only way I can describe it is think Beefheart, Beech Boys and Sabbath all mized together. With a dollop of Japanese weirdness chucked in for good measure. Quite simply the best band around atm. In my opinion anyways....
