Who do you prefer - Tesco or Asda?

I'm asking this cos I popped into Tesco at lunchtime to return one out two cheese selections that I bought a couple of days ago. We'd previously opened the other one and we thought it was pretty tasteless so I thought I'd return the second one for a refund. I was told that I couldn't return it because of '20 min fridge rule' or something like that. I told her I was returning it because of the quality of the product and so did that mean that the message on the back of the product to 'exchange any product of Tescos that you were unsatisfied with' was useless? I was met with a stony faced stare and she just repeated the this '20 min fridge rule'. So I toddled off found somebody else who couldn't believe that they were being so petty and she walked back with me to customer service and told them to credit me. I've dealt with this awful women on the customer service several times before over the years and to be honest I've never met anyone so miserable, she really isn't much of an advert for Tesco.
I've recently, over the last few months done my shopping at Asda and I've never met a bunch of happier, more helpful people, even at the unearthly hour of 7am when I do my shop.

Rant over....

Mad cos the the 1st thing the customer service desk think is 'is this customer trying to rip us off' and usually they're not and more importantly they'll come back.......

If they'd had said 'no problem at all' I might have done this Saturday's shop there, just for a change of scenery as I'd been using the Asda store for the last few months. Well I'm not now so that's £120 they've just lost.

I think I have dealt with this miserable woman. I've refused to go in since.

Tescos! My partner worked at Asda when he was in between jobs in his field, and some of the things he witnessed (mostly to do with the treatment of the fresh fruit/veg products behind the scenes and also in the cafe) resulting in us never shopping for food there again.

Love Tescos, I think I know of the grumpy woman you speak of, and I dont think you should discount shopping at the store because of one misery guts who works there. I love getting vouchers for my points and have just bought loads of Christmas pressies using them!

Also like Sainsburys but its further away for us. I am quite looking forward to the new morrisons supposedly opening in Stafford, the one in Stone is very good :)

Hate asda they never have anything in! usually cheap on price but since they started the silly money back guarantee they have no offers of bogf!
Every time i go i get £3 back in vouchers because they are not 10% cheaper!
I dont like tesco much because they dont do certain things i need and sainsburys have cut back on there deli stuff and stopped stocking certain things!
Some of the staff in asda have a bit of an attitude problem (the ones that are awake anyhow)

Sainsbury's all the way, or Asda if we're in the direction (or sometimes Tesco, in fact my loyalty is a little rubbish) - but we only ever pop in for bits and bobs as most stuff comes from our weekly veg box.

I HATE shopping at this new Tesco (I much prefered the old one ) and if I have to go in the car I make it later at night because of getting off the car-park easier. As well as not finding the fruit & veg very fresh,I find it quite expensive on most things and only really go in when I have a voucher for a few quid off.
We must have met that same misery guts when we last went in and had to go to customer services because one of the vouchers wouldn't work .She just snatched the receipt & voucher off us, sorted the problem and threw the receipt back across the counter at us without a word.

Just been to Asda and quite enjoyed it tonight. (One car parked outside had loads of snow on its roof, so it's come down quite thick somewhere close by). Not too packed and even managed to get some boxes of cheap Magners which have normally all gone. :D

I generally use Lidl. I find it to be, by far, the most civilised arrangement..

I used to be a Sainsbury's shopper and also used to get stuff for someone else now and then in Tesco - I've only been in ASDA three or four times since it opened.

Go to both and will change to morrisons when it opens. They have all got their good and bad points.
What annoys me with tesco is when I pop in for a few items there is never any baskets by the door so you have to excuse people by the tills to get one. On my last occasion I thought I'd complain to a manager or supervisor but as can guess not one in sight, obvosily keeping well out of harms way whilst the shop workers are left to get all the grief.

We prefer Asda, for what we buy, they are almost always the cheaper option. They also do the range of foods we like so we find we have a choice.

I prefer Asda to Tescos, but use Sainsburys everyday, mainly cos its less than 5 minutes walk from here. And I can call in when I finish work. I have a friend who works in Tescos cafe, she does her shopping in Sainsburys, cos she says the quality is better than Tescos!
