Sue Bennett's impressive medal haul grew at the weekend as she claimed two gold and two silver medals at the British Transplant Games in Lanarkshire.

Having claimed a gold and a silver at last year's event in Liverpool, Ranton star Bennett, centre, took silver in the 50m freestyle and the 3k road race.

But she went one better in the 1,500 and 800m track events, claiming gold and PBs for both.

"I am over the moon and looking forward to meeting with my donor's mum to present her with my gold," said Bennett."

Sue is now targetting the next British Games in Birmingham next year, while the World Transplant Games of 2019 will be hosted by Great Britain in Gateshead.

Twitter stalking would suggest that @peggy may have just won us another gold...

...in Cagliari, Sardinia - in the European Transplant & Dialysis Sports Federation Games.

Possibly in a Mini-Marathon event.

I managed to receive gold for the 50m freestyle swim and silver for the 1500m track. I was bitterly disappointed with my 800, I went out too hard and payed the price as I burnt out by 600m with nothing left in me finishing a miserable 4th. Rookie error.
Poor planning by the organisers saw the 800 and 1500 run virtually back to back, making it a tough day.
Just a few weeks before I head for the British Games in Birmingham, spectator go free if you fancy watching.

I've been selected for the GB team at the World Transplant Games again next year. I've been training hard but unfortunately have a small strain in my hamstring. No training this week. Great Britain are the hosts with the Games held in Gateshead.

Eagle-eyed Forum members with a penchant for betting may have spotted that a G-S-B result in the individual 400 metres might lead to a team gold in the 4 X 400 metres relay, but they could have realised a few more quid by also betting on the time being a new world record, apparently.
