Sorry, didn't read everything properly.... I can be a bit di-pie sometimes.

When you say dip-pie it makes you sound like you're from Dudley!

Try saying "beer can" without sounding like a Jamaican saying "bacon". Impossible.

I had some nice ale at lunch time. Shepherd Neame 1698. Strong.

If only I'd had a nice pie to go with it. I did actually go to Tesco after to try and get a mince beef and onion slice or some such, but I had to settle for a sausage roll (or 5, to be exact). Not the same.

sainsburys do a nice steak and guiness pie. i had one the other night. At £1.69 its reasonably priced and she comes through fully cooked in half an hour at 180c!

i think you'll find there's a Ford pie shortage since this thread started going rich. i'm looking outta my office window now, and can see at least half a dozen people with flakes of pastry stuck around their chops. we should have kept quiet.

I tell you what I had that was weird, although not a pie. It was a chicken tikka Yorkshire pussing at the Boar's Head on the Nantwich Road. It seemed like a good idea at the time but, although it was in keeping with the bespoke philosophy, it was just a bit wrong.

Brace yourself for this Andreas:

Rich tells me there is a pie factory in Tipton. You can visit. They serve a vast 4lb Desperate Dan Pie, which if you can eat it all is yours for free.

Found it! http://www.madpies.co.uk/

edit:
BARRYMORE PIE
FAGGOTS - LOCALLY MADE!
Swimming in onion gravy served with mushy peas and mash.

So......who actually ate a pie this weekend? I had a well nice steak pie (think from asda) with steamed carrots, roast potatoes and parsnips, and my lodger made some of the best gravy you're ever likely to taste.

Overall rating: 4/5
