yes that is confirmed phat. the photo is on your phone mate (my old one innit) so maybe you could post it up here.

I don't think that eating a pie is going to be a problem. I am going to old trafford on sunday but i bet they are dirty mancy scummy northern pies made with nothing but gristle and suet fit for non league supporters.

Now they do a proper pie at st james's and if memory serves me correct there is a nice balti pie avaliable at the molinuex.

As a pie connoisseur I have attended many exursions to pie making districts in the UK and boast a wealth of knowledge on pie related topics.
Did you know a Cornish pasty is only a Cornish pasty when the crimpled crust runs across the top of the pie and not around the side. A real Melton Mowbray pork pie collapses on itself because it's baked "free-standing" – those supermarket pies you see, well, they're just far too upright.
I think the idea of a Stafford Pie is excellent, but would like to know what special characteristics a Stafford pie would, or should have, to make it distintive?

If any body has any questions about pies feel free to post them here and I'll will answer them in due course.

Definition of a Stafford Pie:

A pie whose ingredients are decided upon by Staffordians, ingredients procured within the boundaries of the county town (or the county at a push), baked in Stafford by someone who was born in st16 or st17.

with a knot on top.

Having a chav in the pie would make it like christmas pudding... we would all be fighting over who got the Argos Soveriegn

I see, is the plan to put the Stafford pie on the market then? Is the make up of the pic decided? What are the ingredients?

I worry it could become another shortlived fad like the colabomb, you remember that tasty mix of beer, smirfnoff ice and coke. invented in the ford. however, several people claim to be the orginator.

pies have been loved for generations, and i can't see that changing. if we come up with the right blend of ingredients, i think we'll have a product which will stand the test of time. if not, we'll have made a nice pie a couple of times..

We have a pie expert in our midst! could be handy.

There is no place for chavs or elizabeth duke in the stafford pie Gunit. this is a celebration of the good things about stafford not the bad. I like the stafford knot idea though, something akin to that shamrock on the top of a pint of guiness.

to be honest, the amount of discussion and ingenuity this has created...by the time i finally see the finished product i maybe to choked up to eat the bastid. that will be enough for me.

re the colabomb...i drank 4 of them once and i swear i could actually feel it pumping through my veins.

Although we seem to have gone a bit tangent-ish here, let the records show that I'm a bespoker, through and through.

Although I'm a fan of your traditional pie, I'd like to broaden my ho-pie-zons a bit.
