Two minutes after arriving back from a three-week absence, I went to unlock the Shed and discovered that I was already late for my disciplinary hearing.

She's talking to me again now, but mostly to complain about the lack of a fire so far today.

Today, I found that some evidential material had been deposited at the front door of the house.

I considered how I might deliver some admonishment about this, as I would generally view shrews are a largely beneficial resident, not given to entering houses and causing issues thereby.

Luckily, though, before I embarrassed myself with my lack of knowledge, I discovered that these are European Shrews and, as such, were not known to be present on this western island before 2005. They do, apparently, cause the native Pygmy Shrews some difficulties.

So, I have no recourse but to tick them off as an acceptable prey item.

We've had a week away... 2 of our 3 cats are totally ignoring us completely, like we don't exist... Baby Harry though....thinks we're the best thing since sliced bread... So happy as we've never been gone so long before!

Has anyone had experience of the cat laps that only open for your chipped cat. We got one for our cat because we needed to stop other cats coming into our utility room. It has stopped the stray cats but our cat is reluctant to use it. After pushing him through it a few times he's learnt how to go out of it but wont use it to come back in - prefers to top on the window, I'm hoping he gets used to it - any tips on how to make him use it to come in. Thks

Molly has one, I pushed her through it quite a lot to begin with but she's fine with it now, and I can tell she's come in by the bleep.

In Glasgow last week I saw a most unusual cat, one with lynx like ears.
I've now realised that's it was probably a Maine Coon.
