Our Xmas lunch is at the benevolence of Spawn3's lovely school. They have given us a lunch hamper. They mentioned a meat voucher but I'm unsure what they meant and I've not seen it. We have sausages and chicken breasts (I must check if they are still in there) in the freezer so either way we will be good. I've some cake mix in so we will have a crumble cake or something for after. We don't like Xmas pudding. On the huge plus we have loads of homegrown potatoes still. Kids have a bar of chocolate and a present to open. We are doing good this year.

Progress…..

Present shopping is complete. I’m waiting on a couple of deliveries due in the next couple of days 🤞but everything else is wrapped.

Distribution is started, remaining drop offs are organised.

Wednesday is my last working day, but only in the office on Monday then home till jan 3rd!

Plan for the rest of the week………scrubbing the house from top to bottom, doing as much advance buffet prep as possible (so I don’t have to do so much in Christmas Day) , watching Christmas movies, and drinking Buck’s Fizz!

I asked son the other night if there was anything his girlfriend doesn't like to eat , as they're coming for xmas day dinner & tea. " Only BBQ sauce and custard cream biscuits . She likes all things on roast dinners"......

Hubby decided we'd have lamb for xmas dinner for the first ever for a change then ...... messaged son whilst out shopping today to make sure they're both ok with that...... no reply as he was at work at the time , so bought lamb anyway. Message back this afternoon , lamb is the only meat she doesn't like. At least me & hubby can have that on boxing day instead.

Now bought 2 boxes of Tesco's Buttered Turkey Breast Roasts , a tenner for both , instead of buying a crown.

Thought I'd finished present buying . After son ages ago telling me girlfriends family in Portugal only buy each other one present each and don't really make a big thing about presents on xmas day , I bought her a couple of things but didn't go overboard . Now quizzing son , turns out she's bought quite a bit for me & hubby and spent ages wrapping them up nicely with bows etc. I've now got a Boots click & collect to pick up tomorrow with a couple more things  . Just hope she isn't too horrified by my wrapping , nothing at all fancy , stuck with miles of sellotape , and bits of paper stuck on with sellotape to cover the gaps where it's torn in my temper . 😂

I thought I had my final additional presents sorted with a Boots click & collect with today's date promised as latest to arrive in store( shelves empty in store , so only way to get them).... mine not on stores delivery today! Now told by head office that the 5 item order should now arrive within 9 working days, by next week.
Always trusted Boots before ( well , the days of using Queens retail one in Stafford always went as planned). Won't be ordering from them again now down here!
So looks like 🎅 will be making a 2nd visit next week ! 😭

Tell them you've gone Orthodox and Christmas is two weeks later.

Phew! I've got my Boots order with the pressies in now (don't know whether my phone call made any difference or not) , so Santa won't have to be working overtime next week.
(Got sons birthday presents whilst collecting them as well , so a good trip to town today)
Can't cram any more food in the freezer drawers , so just a few bits and bobs of fresh stuff to keep walking to the local Tesco to look out for now , to grab when the dates get better. (Can't leave it til the last couple of days though as this busy store soon sells out)

I wasn't feeling too Christmassy until today where a day at Ludlow races with friends, Three Tuns pale ale, warm mulled cider, an open fire, pigs in blankets baps and Davey boy whingeing something about his Winter's Tale being cold in his caravan and I've come over all Yuletide like 😂😂😂

I was feeling christmassy this morning when a mum & 2 very excited young girls were singing christmas carols on the bus and looking for all the decorations out. Mum said it was a christmas treat , their first ever ride on a bus to town and back. Then the magic was spoilt when they came to get off. They both wanted to press the stop button.....one beat the other to the button instead of both doing it together , so by they time they got off mums treat had ended in tears.

This was my view yesterday evening. The only big lights were from the telly. Everything else Christmas tree and scented candles. Only thing missing was a load of snow outside. (Don't want it!)

Last of my presents wrapped up now , in a sort of fashion . Was getting evil this morning doing them. Paper kept tearing and selloptape kept sticking to everything it shouldn't and twisting.
Rudolph and Prancer have been deprived of their 2 (free) carrots I was given by Tesco to give them ....got them for tea tonight.

It's my little sisters home, ours is in no way festive, or clean and tidy.
The dog is called Chester, she had him from 5 weeks old, and he is now 15. Blind as a bat, miserable as sin and back legs are starting to go. But she loves the very baggy bones of him. He's part Springer Spaniel, part Doberman. The only bit of the Doberman he got are the brown spots over the eyes, as you can see, they've now gone white.
