Hope you are ok @ThehoopermanMy son has just tested positive twice using home test kit and is awaiting results from a full test he took at the Britannia stadium.
His symptoms are feeling a bit fatigued so hopefully that's as bad as it will get.
The only place he's been recently is to work at Aldi in Stoke and only been in contact with his mum (apart from customers and colleagues).
His mum thinks she can go back to work after her leave in 3 days because she has tested negative so I reminded her that the legal requirement is that she has to self isolate for 10 days as well regardless of her test result. This is correct isn't it?
Hope you are ok @Thehooperman
Downside of restrictions is that we shall start having visitors back on the ward.
Only 1 person will be able to visit at any time, and that visit will probably be limited to 30-45 minutes.
Only problem with that for me is, I sodding dislike the relatives, expect overnight miracles and complain when they don't happen.
NHS told all those ,that son had named as being in touch with, that they must self isolate for 10 days.you only has to self isolate by law if:
- you tests positive for coronavirus
- nhs test and trace tell you to self-isolate because you’ve been in contact with someone with coronavirus – this doesn’t include being told by the NHS COVID-19 app
- your school tells you to self-isolate because you’ve been in contact with someone with coronavirus
Apparently they are including in group 6 (the current group) anyone with a BMI of over 40.
It could explain why some people are being offered it even though they are not in the older age group or don’t have underlying health issues.
Latest tests , 9 months on, are showing he's still got a fair amount of antibodies in his blood.
I feel like part of the reason we’re struggling so much as a country with this may be because people consider a BMI of 40 to not be an underlying health condition. That is not just obese, it’s morbidly obese. It’s morbid for a reason.
Yeah, but imagine all the extra exercise you would get, carrying a person of the same weight around with you all day.I just decided to check how much heavier I'd need to be to have a BMI of 40, I'd need to almost double my weight! Since I stopped running I've gained a bit of weight too, so it is pretty much double my 'normal' weight.

I treat staying slim as being too lazy to lug the weight around!Yeah, but imagine all the extra exercise you would get, carrying a person of the same weight around with you all day.
1240-1340 - LFT test at Kingston available tomorrow - friday. Council incorrectly closed the lanes and have now been opened if you want a booking
Thanks for the feedback and for getting tested. Thanks for the heads up @FooFighter. I booked a test for 12.40 today following your post and turned up at 12.35 only to be told they weren't testing until 13.00.
Anyway I went to the door at my appointment time and was admitted after a few minutes after they'd cleaned the room.
It wasn't a major problem for me as I'm off today but I would imagine that some people would have booked specific time off and as a result may not have been able to get tested.
Thanks for the feedback and for getting tested.
1pm timing info from the vaccine volunteer marshalls at the gate?
If so I'll re-align them on our daily timings.

Most of the anti-vaxxers that I know are people who, oddly, think of themselves as "socialist", yet they are not prepared to join in what is essentially a social programme, on the grounds (often) that it is largely for the benefit of capitalist society. That's good to hear! I was reading some stats on Twitter yesterday demonstrating that, although the anti-vaxxers are loud on social media, general uptake has been large enough that they're not a significant factor when it comes to the effectiveness of herd immunity.
