Alcatel 3 L (worst phone ever bought, brand new one faulty after a month and replaced with reconditioned one which is also faulty ) Not sure it's got a SD card in ,I daren't open it up incase it doesn't work again. Just says 16 GB internal storage on the write up on it. Googling it the SD card goes in same slot as sim card???

Contract is up soon , so son says he'll go with me to get a decent Iphone , so that I don't get fobbed off with something they are trying to get rid of again. (Then he'll be the one tearing his hair out having to teach me how to use it , I've always had an android. )

Once I can get him on the case of the NHS App he'll do it in seconds . Just got to wait for his next day off and when he's free to sort me out.

Still not had that email from NHS App confirming whether my information has been checked and passes their tests or not. :hmm:
16GB storage is part of the issue, and you really need an SD card to store photos and things on. My phone has 128GB.

Don't go for an iPhone - Android is much better ;) Just get one that's decent and has expandable storage via SD card (which most will now). You could pick one up for £150 or so.

Aaaah right , thanks . Will check the next phone has the expandable storage via SD card thingy . Bit of a pain not being able to do things on mine as it's saying it's too full.

At least I've managed to get the NHS Covid-19 working ok on it (so far) , so I can scan into venues when needed.

Enjoying a drop of red.

Also, if you are used to using an Android phone, an iPhone will be a new learning experience for many things.

250,000th poster!
Name, postcode, NHS number, pin number, date of birth and a lot more, then ask me 3 codes from Patient Access which don't exist.
Hmmm strange, it just had my basic details, a photo of my drivers licence & a facial recognition thingy... All good to go.

Just tried to get the NHS app on my phone. Security is very important but this is just taking the piss. Having jumped through hoops they want me to either send them photo id or provided details of "patient access" that I can't find anywhere. They've had just about everything except my inside leg measurement. App deleted.
I was given loads of numbers when I first signed up for the patient access . But it said to destroy once entered. I kept it for so long , then slung. So decided on the passport route today instead...
Still waiting for them to confirm I am who I say I am for the NHS app.
Now I know why in airports the passport e- gates facial recognition never works for me, and I'm yanked out and sent to the ' person controlled' desks instead.
I must have been scowling so much getting pissed off with it saying my face didn't match my passport for the app today , that I looked like one of the angry monkeys expressions displayed on a board in Trentham forest yesterday.

Started doubting myself that my face being scanned was really me ...

Still got the next phase to attempt yet..

Hubby uses the same email & phone number as me for doctors/ patient access.

So have to use reference numbers to get into patient access , rather than email.

So can see even more problems trying to get him signed up the nHs on same phone eventually :hmm:

If you’ve got patient access then the NHS is a doddle to set up & link to your go records. Unless, like my fecking useless surgery they’re not set up for full linking.
Getting the id & codes from the surgery to initially set up patient access was a pain in the arse. Apply in person at reception, show photo id, wait for them to send codes etc by post. This was a few years ago, it may have changed now.
The whole procedure for both Patient Access & the NHS App would have been a piece of piss if not for the wankers at my surgery reception.
I used to be able to book appointments, order prescriptions, blood tests etc all online through patient access until the surgery disabled all that at the start of the pandemic. It’s now only possible by phone which they don’t answer & ask us not to phone unless necessary as “the lines are very busy”

we use the same email for us both but you should have separate Id numbers for access. Don’t use the email for Id if the site asks for it & you’ll be able to carry on using the number.
We have 3NHS accounts set up on the app on both of our phones &!they work fine. Every account uses different emails .& passwords etc. It means we can access each other’s accounts, it’s been great for booking jabs & tests etc.

We've always used our ID numbers to get into patient access , with us both having the same email on the accounts. Wasn't going to bother with the App , as we can get the monthly repeat meds & appointments through Patient Access.
But now they are working on the App to store the covid passport on, we need to do it :(
But if we can't get the 3 reference numbers it needs for ID proof on the NHS App , and having to go through the ID route, it's going to have to be hoping it accepts our face scans and passport page as matching up. Kept saying I wasn't me yesterday after millions of scan attempts!
Was going to use another email address for hubby on the App , but then it wouldn't match up with the patient access one ( Don't want to mess around trying to change that, incase we can't get back in to order our medication etc)

Still not had the email confirmation that NHS App has accepted my photo ID proof on the application. Said to expect it within 2 hours , or slightly longer in busy times. Almost 24 hrs now.....

Not even attempting hubby's until I've got a new phone , and son is here to do it in minutes rather than my hours.

I wouldn't worry too much til other countries have said they'll accept it, not like we can travel yet anyway.
Not even sure we'll get travel insurance again now , so not really banking on a foreign holiday again. LV were the only ones to agree to cover us these past few years, and even they were umming & aaahing at the latest annual renewal. We cancelled it last year , so looks like just renewing our passports for when needed for ID purposes.

Just hoping we won't be needing Covid Passports to get into some UK venues..

I'm trying to figure out why there was so much hassle for you guys getting the NHS App onboard. I've had it for a few months and don't remember any problems finding or submitting the bits and pieces they wanted. It is very handy, especially now with bloody medical appointments creeping out of the woodwork. As for travelling? ... if I never get on another plane again it will be too soon. :P
