Coronavirus.

Someone had asked in an earlier post, if track & trace actually contact people.... They do... I'm off work poorly, my colleague is of having received notification that she needs to isolate... We were having a good old natter on the phone this morning when they rang her to make sure she was in!
Son was contacted quite a few times when he had Covid and isolating. He did stick strictly to the isolation rules, but I thought at the time he could have been anywhere on his mobile.

An interesting point of comparison for what the government has announced this week: Israel has a similar level of vaccination rollout as the UK (they've jabbed about 1-1.5% less of the population when I last checked) and they reintroduced mandatory mask-wearing 10 days after dropping it recently after seeing a rise of 100 cases in the interim.

I believe their cases are on the increase as Delta has taken hold. Such a shame this nasty little variant appeared as data suggest vaccine roll our would have had the Alpha variant well under control by now

I'm starting to get the impression that I'm sitting on a runaway train that is being driven by a clown named DORIS JOHNSON with a train guard named HANNIBAL LEKTOR !!

.... and dead ahead is an old trellis bridge that has been the residence of a shitload of woodworms for some time now. :gonk:

We were on track to be in a great position a couple of months ago. Really, I think infection levels would be extremely low had this variant not turned up. Same story as the pre-Christmas wave, as the lockdown appeared to have done its job in both cases.

Had Boris not insisted on pushing Brexit through during a pandemic (and not been more concerned about striking a trade deal with India than with closing that corridor) then we probably would have avoided it, too, for the time being.

I think he's rather nicked that one from Twitter over the last two months heh.

Took another Covid test today as I'm a bit under the weather. Negative but I swear the nose bit gets worse every time.

My daughters doing work experience at a school, so has been doing the tests daily, she also says the nose test is getting worse, and it makes her cough for a good 5mins when she's finished.

Been really tired for days, but can't really remember the drive in today, forgot where I'd parked, got very little done and as soon as I got home pulled a blanket over me and stayed on the sofa. I don't feel ill as such, but very hot and absolutely no energy.

Guess I'm due a test

I may have said it before in this thread, but I expect we'll all get it in the next 6 months. We may not know it due to the vaccine, but we'll get it.

Yep, definitely. My boss has it, all he's done is slept.
Any other symptoms? I'm just vacant and very tired.

Apparently these symptoms don't make me eligible for a PCR test, so I need to do a lateral flow. Will go grab some tests in a min.

EDIT: Apparently Beaconside chemist are doing tests, rather than just giving you ones to do yourself. Any benefit in that?

You know it's been done right? Apparently it's easy to miss swab making the result invalid.
if you log your symptoms through Zoe covid app you may get invited to take a free government PCR test.

Do you want me to collect one and drop it off?

Lie and get a PCR.

Not spoken to him so not sure of other symptoms, he's poorly enough not to work.

Don't lie! there are only so many pcr tests available so someone else who needs it may go without. If you don't have the classic 3 symptoms and a negitive lft than you don't need the pcr test.
