Coronavirus.

It's amazing how many people I know who are isolating with covid this Christmas. Don't think I've known so many friends to be infected or a contact at once before in this pandemic.

Feels like even more of a covidy crimbo than last year, doesn't it?
Most of sons friends have either got it , or their close family has. Hubbys work colleague has it. From the videos of our packed local pub last night , I'm expecting half of this end of town to have it very soon.

Apparently most of our village have it after a PTA do in the village hall last week.
Yep, I was told the same when over there earlier today. There’s quite a few in the village & also in the surrounding area connected to that event. Hopefully some of the inconsiderate twats that parked all over the road to attend are amongst the cases.

Can't say I wish COVID on anybody to be honest.

However, inconsiderate parking should never go unpunished, so I wish them a good dose of the clap.

Whereabouts was this inconsiderate parking? Highlight of my day when they all park for school and a tractor tries to get past. If I ever had to get out of my drive at drop off or pick up day I couldn't. All to save them walking 100 yards.

BTW, nice job to whoever it was that forgot to turn ANY of the Christmas lights on in town today! XD
Not a single one was lit when I cycled through earlier, not even on the tree in the square.

There was a comment on a private FB group yesterday at 16:18, that they weren't on, with an accompanying dismal picture.

This is what really annoys me off about an these government restrictions, it's the blatant nonsense like some of the new ones in France.
*Gatherings will be limited to 2,000 people indoors and 5,000 people outdoors.
*Eating food and drink will be banned on long-distance transport.
*Working from home will become mandatory at least three days per week, where possible.
Because you can't catch the virus indoors if you are with only 1999 other people. An extra person in the room, and the virus will be out of control.

Because you are safe eating on short distance transport but do it on the TGV and everyone is fcuked.

Because of you're not at work more than two days a week you'll be safe but it's also ok to go somewhere indoors with 1999 other people.

It's all just utter, utter nonsense.

The 1918 flu pandemic didn't end because of any medical breakthrough. There was no vaccine for it. It mutated into normal seasonal flu and fizzled out.

With any luck this Omicron is just that, a weak strain and we can all get back to normal. But there's too many financial interests for some people to let that happen. Not to mention all the bureaucrats who have been enjoying ordering people around and having signs printed.

I'm hopeful this will happen, but relying on the weaker mutation being dominant seems a little unwise. Remember we were much more thinly spread 100 years ago and yet that flu still killed something like 3% of the planet.

The wife has her booster tomorrow at Kingston, but I don’t have mine for a while longer… what are the chances that they’ll just let me have mine there anyway?

If you don't ask, you don't get.

Can't see any harm in asking if they'll do you at the same time.

Taking minime for her second jab on Thursday, seems to have been along time coming.

Well.... seems covid has paid a visit to our house this past week.

Son has been here for 5 days over xmas, and went back late last night. We all took daily tests which were negative each time.

He tested negative again before work this morning . Tested himself again after work tonight , after a few people off work with it, and he's suddenly tested positive twice . PCR test booked for tomorrow !

Unless the PCR test comes back negative , that's his birthday plans f**cked up for a 2nd year running. :( (Pity he hadn't got round to having his booster due to work commitments, and had planned to get it next week whilst off on holiday)

I've done 2 tests today and both negative still..... hopefully mine and hubbys boosters have warded it off......

Holmcroft are open tomorrow ( Wednesday) Thursday & Friday but not the weekend. Providing you fit the criteria it would be very unusual for the Jolly Jabbers to refuse you

It’s more it’d be a lot easier if I could go through with her, neither of us are terribly fond of the entire process
