Something I've always found funny is how many anti vaxxers drink and smoke, despite all the evidence that it's much more dangerous than the vaccination. I know someone who repeated the 'but you don't know what's in it' line, despite me witnessing them previously buy drugs off a guy in a pub toilet.
I'm often reminded of the time, during the Edwin Curry salmonella in eggs event, when a bloke told me "I'm never going to eat an egg again", whilst smoking one of the 60+ real men's cigarettes that he would consume every day.

There are many, many people that have bought into the whole "this virus is a killer and we must protect ourselves" while still smoking 20 a day and drinking heavily. Those are also cumulative and, the chances are, it'll catch up.
The repeated snide comments about a link posted forecasting people suffering side effects, show what people really are!
If you went back over the last 2 years and took every prediction as gospel, timewise, not a lot would be spot on but ended up happening.

If everything was true and had to followed through rigidly, Ferguson's projections would have most of us dead by now, the NHS would be even more decimated because c100k staff would be sacked, while all of this would have had knock on effects.
Just as, if the vaccine worked, was an actual vaccine and was perfect, I wouldn't be speaking out with millions of others.
As for constant drivel about anti-vaxxers..... grow up!

Not really relevant to the point being made that, though, is it...?
Maybe not, but it is all about probabilities and ranges isn't it. What is the probability that someone smoking 60 cigarettes a day is going to die earlier than they otherwise would have done? What is the mean age at which a 60 a day smoker dies and what is the range of death ages for 60 a day smoker? What else is involved? Apply to any other cause of death or serious illness.

You keep going round in your little circles of convenience and same science.
You say things like that as if they actually have any meaning, but what are 'circles of... same science'? How does one 'keep going round' in them? What is this trying to convey?
I and millions of others will move on and find new ways to live.
Is one of those 'new ways to live' pretending that you didn't really believe some rando on the internet, proclaiming themselves to be the '2nd Smartest Guy in the World', when they said that by now everybody who had had the vaccine would have lost "100% of their entire immune capability", even though you had clearly believed that said rando when they said that exact thing just a few weeks ago?

Because that isn't really a 'new way to live', it's been around for quite some time - it's called hypocrisy.

I don't doubt that you will move on - if only it were to obscurity due to the extreme embarrassment you should feel.

Science is changing your stance based on new evidence, but what GG has done is evolve past that to practice Post Truth Science. By foregoing the burdensome evidence part he can now believe up to 870% more things than us stuck in the past, and the lack of facts to anchor him to any particular viewpoint means it's easier to move on to a shiny new opinion without worrying about glaring contradictions. See how much simpler life can be!

So @gilbert grape , you're just going to ignore the fact that it is now May, and we have stubbornly refused to relinquish "100% of [our] entire immune capability"?

We were "within weeks" a month ago.

What say you now?

@cj1, Withnail is referring to GG telling us that....

yes, triple jabbed and masked people will be ill next week

....back in mid-April. He's talking about the vaccine being "poison", not the waning antibodies.

Obviously we know vaccines don't all protect you forever. That's why people get the flu shot every year and its not just one-and-done.

I could well be wrong, but doesn't it depend on the sort of illness? Like you don't catch measles twice (usually) so the vaccine works by 'faking' the illness and your body then reacts accordingly. I don't know offhand of vaccines that work forever for illnesses you generally catch multiple times, but this an assumption on my behalf I've never looked into it.

Just to add this weekend I went with @Thehooperman to watch the superbikes, went to the pub in Manchester and then went to a gig. I'm trying to work out which bit of all this is me living in fear, because it's quite enjoyable.

It's been the constant drivel of a few on here. talking down to others for daring not to dance to the same tune.
You've vilified people for daring not to wear a mask or get vaccinated.
I know people who have never done either and have never had it.
One solution does not fit everybody so your constant damning of people for
1. Not doing as you do
2. Not doing as you say
3. Daring to ever have an opinion on something without sharing a link!
frankly drains my very soul and probably the same for many others!

Just to say, Gilbert often swans into this thread and has a rant based off the premise that we've all been slagging off people who decide not to wear a mask or be vaccinated.

We haven't been.

He did it once when @Gramaisc and me exchanged neutral observations on the rate of mask-wearing and he's done it again now when tek wasn't even talking about how other people live, he was commenting on his own activities in comparison to Gilbert's claim that we're all "living in fear of covid".

And yet he swans in and has another rant about how we're all slagging off people who don't wear masks or haven't been vaccinated when not a single word of the sort has been said in the post he's directly replying to, nor can I remember any such "constant damning".

Gilbert is either somebody with reading comprehension issues or a liar.

You're welcome to your opinion, but this is a forum. Look up the word, think about what it means, then wonder why we have no time for someone that merely throws out the latest fad reason to be anti without ever being capable of answering why.

I will not only happily change my stance as new evidence comes to light, but I'll also engage in debate about what I believe and more importantly why I believe it. You won't, you ignore every question asked, even though we're asking because we actually read and understood what you posted when you have readily admitted to not even reading ours.
