Went to Birmingham last night to watch a live taping of the 'Guilty Feminist' podcast and was surprised by how high the rate of mask-wearing was* around the town, particularly in Forbidden Planet. There were a few more at the actual gig than usual too so I felt less conspicuous and it didn't stop the (also solo) people next to me from making conversation. That has been probably the major thing that wearing a mask has impacted at gigs before now, people are less likely to talk you as it's like having a bit of a barrier up so it was nice to have a chat.
*note for the hard-of-thinking, this is a NEUTRAL OBSERVATION and not a judgement on anyone who either did or did not wear one. So keep ya knickers untwisted, thanks.

Yes. That's the entirety of the point being made, why are they wearing masks.
Some of his followers in the comments are like "he's just asking a reasonable question, they might have a good reason" when he's being accused of mocking them, but IMHO reasonable vs mocking comes down to the difference between the questions "why are YOU wearing masks?" and "why are THEY wearing masks?"
