Amusing Q and A on Mock the week:

Answer: 25,000 - what is the question?

Question: Is it how long the queue must be in the post office before they open up another cashier point?

Used these before no problem whatsoever.

Just called up to get a van rental for the weekend. Telephone was answered "Hello?" as if i had called her at home at 11pm.

I had to ask if it was Arnold Clarke I had got through to....."Yeah"

Can I hire a van for the weekend?....."yeah, which one"

I advised I was looking for either the largest high roof transit type or possibly a ford luton type depending on the price. ...."luton?"

I asked to speak with someone who knows about vans, no one available.

Eventually drew prices out from them, and asked about weekend deals "no, daily rate only, we're tight on the vans"

At this point I was unhappy anyway but the prices were obscene compared to affords/enterprise (LWB transit 135.00 at enterprise, all in except diesel and no excess vs. arnold clarke £305 and a £200 deposit for the excess) and mentioned that their prices were so off the mark it was unreal. She told me to rent elsewhere then.

Suffice to say I have just sent an email to the complaints line, although I wouldn't be surprised if that's got a filter on it - straight to trash.

It should be noted I called the 0141 237 4374 number and NOT the stafford branch. I spoke to a scottish lady, so probably nothing to do with the Stafford branch at all.

Used them before, never again.

Awful place, they haven't got a clue. Had to take the g/fs car there as they had a promo on the tyres we needed and nowhere else would price match. Sat and watched the lad try and find the tyres on the racks and it looked like he was struggling but he found them and fitted them.
I walked out to the car and checked the tyres (both fronts). Right brand, right size, different load indexes. Went back in and told the manager and his first reaction was that they'll be fine, you'll not notice. I insisted they switch the tyres but it was as if they weren't remotely bothered that they'd put different tyres on.
KwikFit has registered, no input thus far maybe found it too exhausting and being tyred went for a brake?......

I was goin hire a car from Enterprise when I was off the other week, the price was only £146.00 for the week on a Focus. 2 days before I picked it up I re-read the email, they were also going to take a £200 deposit off me at the same time. Just in case they got the car back with a trolley dent or owt like that in it. I went to Afford, where I finally ended up with a Vauxhall Insignia 2ltr for £200 the week. They don't have the Focus on the fleet anymore,so I was told i'd be upgraded to the Meriva, got there on the Weds and it wasn't in,hence the upgrade. Enterprise can go take a running jump,Afford all the time for me now.

Had a car from enterprise last week for three days - on the first day the focus broke (fuel filler had jammed shut) and they replaced it there and then, didn't charge me for the fuel used (1/4 tank) and also marked the replacement as empty (which had almost 1/2 a tank of fuel) for the inconvenience. As they're on my way home from work it wasn't too inconvenient. I gained almost 2 days worth of rental in fuel back :D

They were also the cheapest place to rent, with the lowest insurance excess and allowed me to drive a vehicle despite only having had my licence for 9 months.

I've just hired a van from them for the weekend, as again, they were the cheapest by far and had terms I was more than happy with.

The £200 was refunded straight onto my card last time with no delay - can't say I'd go anywhere else.

Massive SKILL to Plumbits on North Walls and Craig in there for his help...

I normally shy away from places like that and go to Wickes / B&Q etc... I always get the feeling i'll walk in the real trade places and get treated like an idiot for knowing nothing about DIY...

So after my visit to Wickes and B&Q this morning and not finding the bit I need, went to Plumbits and within seconds Craig had found the bit I needed, assembled it for me right before my eyes and answered all of my stupid questions....

Would definitely recommend these guys before going to the big sheds... can't beat specific knowledge about the subject that these guys have....

Agreed, been there before and while they couldn't find an exact replacement they cobbled something together that worked.

Been using Plumbits for years, very pro outfit. Their prices match or beat the sheds and the online cowboys - well recommend them

I went in there a couple of months ago to get stuff to deal with a blocked sink.
He sold me some thin flexible pipe, told me to force it down the plughole and then blow down it as hard as i could.
Problem sorted. Cost: about 2 quid.

We do try. (btw, it is one word: Westside - the origins of the name are lost in the mists of time, so don't ask).

Just don't ask for the party bus, as we don't have one.
If my money ever comes through, we might have a Metal Bus though.

(Not an official spokesman for Westside, just the only one on here)

I used to use Westside a lot, always wanted the bloke on the phone to say Westlife, just the once! And if we're giving skill points out, then Fred from Westside has got to be the best taxi driver ever! Yea.Kaminskis have the disco bus, comfy as it is I couldn't go a long journey in it.

Just hired one of these for the end of the week, how did you find the insignia? Every vauxhall I haver ever driven has made me fall out of love with driving, I'm hoping the insignia is a different story (as I have a 500 mile trip!).

We owned an Insignia - it was, by far, the worst car I have ever owned .. sluggish, crap in the snow and or ice, pants in rain, consumes diesel quicker than I can drink a G & T.

Got rid and turned my back on Vauxhall's forever :) Now drive a Ford Mondeo - boring to look at, but brilliant car.
