I've had many a similar experience in Rev's too......seems to take ab absolute age to get served at the bar, usually get presented with a clueless vacant expression from the bar staff......and any soft drink usually comprises of a glass full of ice...but when asked to not have ice I'm always presented with a look of discontent.....

Fab service from the lads at A-Z bought a bulb for the car, was only 50p, sold me the bulb and told me to come back and pay later as I only had my card on me.

Also the Chinese on Tixall Road is fab great service in there and oh so friendly she seems to remember all her customers personally!!!!

Never had crap service from the guys at A-Z...always got what you need, and if not, they can usually get their hands on it within a few days.

Oh my gosh, she is the sweetest lady!
I'm 6'6 and she always insists I take some sweeties while I wait.
One year I must have looked cold whilst waiting so she brought out a mobile heater for me.
She's been known to remember peoples orders 6 months later.

Stafford treasure right there.

Lovely lovely lady. Don't see her much now after moving to a different area of Stafford but still asks how the kids are when I do see her (one's 17 now and less of a kid). She also used to pop up at random points at Good View in Telegraph street too - apparently it was a relative of hers who owned that one.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I have visited the chinese at Littleworth/Tixall Road twice and both times the food has been awful.

As Christmas is coming and people may be struggling for ideas for presents, I thought I'd give these guys a mention - Wickers World, who run balloon flights from various areas of the midlands, but from Shugborough and Trentham in particular. We went on a flight last August Bank Holiday and it was excellent - see the photos from the flight posted here. And here's a few more photos taken before and after the flight where you get to help out with setting stuff up and packing it all away. The pilot was excellent - he got us up and down safely (we even stayed upright when we landed) and was always happy to answer questions. Possibly the only negative was to do with the weather and the fact that there aren't too many days suitable for flying, morning or evening, so you might have to wait a while for your flight (we had 10 cancellations last year before we were successful). Anyway, please PM me if you'd like to know more.

We had seven cancellations before our flight which was an early evening one.
After packing the balloon away, we had a very tedious return journey in the back of the Landrover as the driver got lost and did not know how to get from Bradley to Stafford. However they may now have either a map or a satnav.

Skill to the Max to Iain Baron of AAA Locksmiths.
I recently had need of an auto locksmith and found this guy on Google.
Contacted him at about 18:00 on the Sunday evening, booked for first thing Monday morning.Turned up when he said he would, carried out the work very professionaly with a minimum of fuss. Very reasonable rates too for a job in Woodseaves.

He also does more run of the mill stuff, domestic and commercial locksmithing etc.

He broke into my Xsara years ago after my dad locked my keys in the car....5 minutes, and in...job done.

Years ago he came to the rescue within minutes when my front door hinges dropped slightly and wouldn't close as I was off out to work as well.

Cuffy service of the day award goes to the branch manager at the new Costa next to primark. He was the most grumpiest person going. Asking for a serviette was almost like trying to get blood out of a stone

Service always seems slower in Costas than in most other coffee shops but the on at Riverside is by far the slowest and their machinery the least clean. I don't bother troubling them now. It's not like there's a shortage of decent alternatives in the town.

Cuffy points to the Co-op on Silkmore Lane who overcharged me on 3 of the 10 items I was buying yesterday, then the cashier was so rude and grumpy when I dared to point out the mistakes.

Had I not checked I would’ve been £1.70 poorer. Not a huge amount, but imagine how much extra profit they’d make if every tenth customer was overcharged just £1! Always check your receipts, people! All the supermarkets do this!

The Wildwood Co-op quite often have prices going through higher than on the shelves. Even with a "I'll get that changed then" , it still goes through at the higher price next time , with the shelf label still showing the lower price. It's getting rather embarrassing as it always seems to be us having to have get overcharge refunds on each visit! One cashier sneered once and threw the difference across the counter with a "It's only 'x' amount !" . Then just shrugged when I asked if she would have given me the goods if I was that 'x' amount short to pay...

Cuffy to the 2 members of Britannia/Co-op bank staff I've been promised a call back from today. The second one I spoke to (when I eventually got them to answer the phone after 2 hours of not picking up) promised faithfully "I will ring you back today". She was the member of staff we wasted an hour with on a saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, opening a seemingly none existent account ....

All we wanted to do is open a basic savings account with them, but they don't seem to want our money!
Still waiting for that return phone call, but if that's how they treat people it is too late now, will take our custom elsewhere.
