In fairness, that is the last really muddy bit and they have already done the Newport end.

Each part they have done, I have hated. It looks horrible, all the trees are injured and everything is artificial. Then a few months later it is brilliant and I forget all about it.

There used to be a horrible bit at Wilbrighton. It was all rubble, like you would find beneath rail tracks. I couldn't cycle on it and used to cut into an alternative, very narrow path through the trees. It had exposed roots that would pitch me off the bike. Now, I can scoot along the line perfectly.

I still don't like the finished surface on a road bike but it is brilliant on my folding bike which has chunkier tyres.

So I'm averaging about 17-20 miles each bike ride three times a week, but I think that it might be the crank making a very slight grinding action, although that could be my knees! I bought the bike second hand, and although it hadn't had a lot of use before me, I think it may need a M.O.T. So, is Henry Burton the place to go for this, or does anybody recommend any alternatives?

Cheers

Got my Peugeot from B2B., Xmas 2012. Has been great, £70, massive bargain! They services my bike before my 106m jaunt to Barmouth; and I paid for new puncture resistant tyres, and Slime inner tubes, that they ordered and fitted. Bike was fantastic all the way, even up them massive hills! AND NO PUCTURES! :bananafunk: Don't want to over egg it, but I LOOVE B2B. Helpful, knowledgeable staff, incredibly competitive prices! :)

Bike in question is the one in the photo. http://www.staffordshirenewsletter....-pull-pounds/story-21191487-detail/story.html

I've found H Burton ok - one thing i would say is that they tend toward the upgrade on any potential fix.

Having said that, they do ring you before any work commences, so you can ask them to use a cheaper option if you so wish.

One thing i do like about them, as opposed to some others i have found, is that they take your machine for a 'bit of a spin' before they hand it back to you - ironing out any creases that may become apparent.

Mind you, having said that i have also had great service from Back2Bikes.

Either/or really.
