Do you know a YouTuber?
We're having to dream up some weird, wonderful, unconventional ideas for fund raising, to maintain our project.
We're currently looking to team up with creators who'd be willing to offer to donate us the ongoing ad revenue from just one of their uploads.

You probably never heard of the guy but he's huge in the electronics youtuber world.
This is our first creator catch, and hopefully the start of many more!
Words cannot describe the excitement at Free IT HQ today.
Pennies maybe, but the exposure...

We're delighted to be working with SimPal in fighting the digital divide, together providing equipment and connectivity where it's desperately needed.

We've refurbished and rehomed 818 internet ready gadgets to date.
And with another 17 all ready to meet their new owners, we'll be at 835 before the end of next week!
We couldn't do any of this without your support!

We get no support, funding, or promotion from County Council.
They prefer to run their own project.
It must be working well if their own departments are coming to us.
We help them anyway.

Just testing the water, if there's enough interest we'll organise the event properly.
A bit of fun in aid of a good cause!

Our volunteer tech guy Tim runs his own business and has a young family but still gives up his free time to help out on our project and his own cash to help us buy the parts we need.
He has been with us since day one and is our Apple go-to guru.
Big respects to Tim.

We're chuffed to be working with Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust on their new project.
We'll be providing laptops for their clients to use in sessions if they haven't got their own to bring.

That's brilliant news. We do have tablets on the wards (no pun intended) for patients to use, but obviously not enough to go round.
It's a shame you can't work your magic on the laptops staff are meant to use, a lot need have problems connecting to the intranet at times. not good if you have a whole days worth of Physical Observations etc etc to put on and no desktop available.

We can only do so much. Sadly we had to draw a line very early on with regards to supporting equipment we haven't supplied. A question of resources really, and being very strict about our remit and separating life time from volunteer time. We're here to provide kit that we've worked on ourselves and nurtured back from the brink of death, we know those gadgets intimately and they've cost us enough time. There's no telling what variety of hardware faults and software bugs we'd come across, and potentially end up becoming morally responsible for, if we started trying to fix everything, particularly when they are running organisation specific software and connectivity that we aren't familiar with :(

We're often asked why we aren't registered as a charity, and the simple answer is money, we don't have enough income.
If anyone would like to whimsically offer us a bung of sayyyyyyy £5K that would be grand, a promise also counts towards that threshold :)

Our website is terrible. And we know it. And it's a really bad look for a bunch of tech guys.

When we formed we took as much free stuff as we could get, and our website package is one of those things. It's something that we've not considered paying for up to now, because it works.

However we are aware of some security flaws which are a side effect of using free hosting services. And we'd really like to update the look and feel with some features we're denied on the free package, social links and the like.

We have a new website almost ready to go, but we are halted by one issue, the cost. We can't "publish" without paying.

We'd love to find a local business or private donor who'd specifically fund this for us. We'd have to pay 5 years up front with no arguments, and there's just no way without your help.
