Thought a new thread was needed for next year's holidays aspirations...

I'll kick things off. Having not managed anything foreign for many years due to the dear departed's illness I'm wanting to take the 12 year old somewhere warm at Feb half term.

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel/resort in the Canaries ?

We booked here... Not far from the airport, generally good reviews, close to the resort centre... Im not expecting the world but I think it will be fine..

No did it together. Got a small discount for being a single parent. It's flying from Stansted but it was a couple of hundred cheaper than local airports

Just bought my season pass for the Superbikes and booked a cottage for a week in Anstruther for the Knockhill weekend in June and a cottage for another week in Southwold for Snetterton weekend in July.

Also booked for long weekends away for Brands and Caldwell Park.

I am attending a wedding up near Loch Lomond so I will take my Motorhome and extend the stay around that area of Scotland. In addition I have booked a campsite near Canterbury and intend to show my wife some of the places I used to live in Kent.
Outside of that I need to think of a week somewhere in the uk.

Done it twice. Once in the summer with our recently departed RV and once in the early spring by car. Both equally enjoyable in their own ways.

I suspect we'll just be bouncing between riga and stafford, but that's not really a holiday as I'll be working still!

Going to look into these working visas for Spain though, may dissappear for a year before Eric reaches school age as I can work anywhere.

Hopefully you’ll be planning to take more than the 4 days! I’ve not done the whole route but large parts of the Western side accidentally featured on a holiday a couple of years ago. Take half a day out and go whale watching from Gairloch. No whales for us but never seen so many dolphins, and jumping so close you could’ve touched them.

Shieldaig to Lochcarron is beautiful and remote. Try the locally smoked salmon in Shieldaig - literally done in what’s basically a shed in someone’s garden.

Yes I doubt we could have done America this year without the virgin points I've amassed over the year.....

Off to South Africa for 4 weeks, can't wait! Indian ocean, safari, horseriding, trekking, paddle boarding etc etc!

If you ever get the chance to put in an upgrade bid on a flight then a big thumbs up from me! We are flying Lufthansa Frankfurt to Johannesburg. Got an email 2 days ago saying we could update our economy ticket by bidding, either to Premium Economy or business class. Not thinking we had a chance I swerved business class and bid 130 quid for a premium economy upgrade. Holy hell, I won . As someone who has never even won the nasty wine in a dodgy raffle I thought I had no chance. Total price for a premium economy flight to Jo burg, £380. My god I'm happy lol!

Gotta be in it to win it!
