Locals seem cheerful enough despite their somewhat basic accommodation

And the bridge was a bit rickety rackety.

I'll ask her if it was the Iona when I see her on friday. She was saying today that she's been on lots of other cruises , but enjoyed the P&O ones the best and already booked a canaries cruise with them as soon as she got back.

Looking forwards to more photos :)

I'm desperate to go away - I genuinely haven't seen the sun in over two weeks.

I've never known the weather so grey and misty.

I am seriously at the point of willing to pay just for one day to feel the sun on my face.

There are cafés in Finland where they supply artificial sunlight to their customers in the winter...

It was the Iona that my mate went on @Trumpet. She goes on lots of cruises and said it's one of their newer ships and one of the best she's been on.

I had the first of a few breaks last month, Scotland, mainly around the east side of Loch Lomond, with a small bit of time at Loch Doon. I have to say it was exceptional. Everything was perfect, from our pitch at the side of the Loch, to the weather, to the people. Could not ask for more. We are already planning another week next year, I really want to see the Kelpies so may be a different area.
In a few weeks I am driving the Motorhome to Canterbury and using a campsite there as a base.

As well as Paignton self catering in September , just booked a self catering week in Poole soon , in the 'home from home' house we've stayed in many times before , but this time under new ownership and being let out by Sykes Cottages. Exactly the same furnishings and contents as must have been bought as a job lot , kettle and all.
Been reduced to more like the price we've been used to paying , from £1375 :o to a more affordable £745 as the only week left and getting close .
Perfect for us as it's right by the sea, with a short flat walk for pubs and shops, and have our own garden and a driveway to park in.
Only difference is we can't get in early as we used to , and I don't suppose they will leave us a fridge full of goodies and wine like the original owners used to !

Also , after getting a GP letter for the insurance company for hubbys health condition , have found out that LV will insure our medical conditions for a holiday abroad . So can jet off over to Portugal sometime now . :)
