There are two turbines next to the M6 somewhere after junction 12 now. Not sure if either of them are called Hugh though.

They are on Rodbaston (South Staffordshire College) land, one has been working pretty much continually for some time, the other only occasionally.

As you go down the dual-carriageway link-road from Redhill towards Junction 14, there are two turbines visible. I have not see the right-hand one turning for many weeks, possibly even all of this year, whilst the left-hand one churns away most of the time.

Well, it was turning merrily yesterday.

Interesting situation just now, on what doesn't seem a very windy day.

I think there's a "steady supply" of the stuff. Nothing bonkers but plenty of the stuff to be utilised....

Reading though and glad to see we’re not the only ones that actually like the look of them

Especially when you compare it to what you’d see driving towards Nottingham, massive concrete towers in the middle of nowhere...

One day, when I have lots of land (hah), I’d like to have one. Pretty good location for it given how windy Stafford is.

Walking around Tamar Lake this morning I counted 13 wind turbines, all thumping away merrily. They're all over the place down here which makes sense as going west there's not much in the way of the wind until you get to Newfoundland. Some years ago I was asked to sign a petition from some local inhabitants (not actual locals though) in protest at building more. I refused saying I had no problem with them, mainly because I actually like electricity.
Some took quite serious umbrage to this, pointing out they were very noisy and an eyesore.
I cycled out to the three big turbines involved when they were up and running. All I could hear was the sound of shotguns down in the valley below them as the local bird life was getting wasted. It sounded like Dodge City on a bad day.

Same here, I wouldn't complain having 1 on my land or nearby within eyesight. Perhaps I'm weird, (I am), but I find watching them quite relaxing.
