Jaspers.

Interesting thing about Jaspers. When Costa, Subway & Greggs opened at Boscomoor the large number of villagers who posted on the village forums views of relief that now there was somewhere to go other than Jaspers was surprisingly large. Clearly far from universally popular in the village.

If Jaspers in Penkridge isn’t popular then why is it always busy with people queuing out of the door? And this was pre-Covid queuing.

Some people don't like to take a chance on something and prefer a big soul-less global chain to a small local business.

I was a little surprised but must admit that I used to prefer the deli across the road while it was open. A lot of Jasper customers seem to come from outside the village tho.

A lot of the hurrah for the global chains people appeared to be ex Jasper customers

Choice can only be a good thing whether you like the other establishments or not. I use Jaspers because they won't open the Baswich shop. If they did, I'd use that one.

Costa I've used a lot, Greggs is meh, Subway is a steaming pile of donkey droppings in my experience.

Is that the foot long steaming pile of donkey droppings then?

My first job was working in the village and I would often get my lunch from jaspers on a Saturday. That was 20 years ago!

I still think it’s as good as ever
