Only a couple of coastal lagoons this afternoon, no real obstruction to road traffic, other than the abandoned, unnecessary barriers left in the road.

That reminds me of when I was commuting to Burton on Trent every day. If the traffic was bad or A38 closed I would look for a detour. One route took me over this bridge. It was definitely one to drive over with wing mirrors retracted. Not due to the width of the bridge but the very narrow entrances which were probably to keep HGVs off it or something.

In Cambridge they shoved a Bailey Bridge across the Cam when one of the bridges needed repair. Took them about 4 weeks to erect it, the repairs on the other bridge didn't take as long.

Flooded roads. There was a road across the Bedford Levels near where I lived. Regularly flooded and that required about a 12 mile detour. For years people were complaining bitterly about it and coming up with ideas for low bridges or viaducts. Eventually Great Ouse River Authority (as it then was) said that non of them could possibly work, but if the road surface was raised by 18" then most of the floods wouldn't occur . Road was raised, flooding ceased and years of misery ended.

The road by the Cricket club in Worcester which used to flood badly was raised a couple of years ago . The one way road is turned into a contraflow when the roads all around are flooded and unpassable . Still got flood water on it when the levels are really high , but not as bad a before.

But as we know, that just tends to push the problem somewhere else.

I remember the Bailey Bridge near the Brine Baths but that one looks more permanent.
